I need some help, and I've called the help line and they can't help me.
I have an internet filter Safe Eyes that I've been running on my computer as I have children and as soon as I switched to a UVerse service the filter couldn't connect anymore to the servers. I've basically identified my problem as being the NVG510 modem is somehow blocking access to the software somehow. I've connected to my neighbor's router and the software works just fine.
I've tried a lot of the simple fixes such as adding the ports needed (4100, 4500) to the Nat/Gaming tab and assigned them to my computer, and they still can't connect.
The filter has a test website www.safeeyes.com which routs you to www.internetsafety.com
I can't connect to www.safeeyes.com at all.
Can anyone with this router connect to www.safeeyes.com and if you can, can you tell me your settings on the modem to make it work?
I've tried manually setting my DNS servers on this computer also to the AT&T servers and also the Google DNS servers with no luck accessing the test site.
Please help if you can ![]()

Stimpy: So what'll happen?
Ren: That's just it. We don't know. Maybe something bad, maybe something good. I guess we'll never know, 'cause you're going to guard it. You won't touch it, will you?"

What operating system do you have on your computer?
What version of Safe Eyes are you using?
Are you using any other security software on your computer (malware/spyware/virus/firewall)?
Not sure where you came up with the port numbers, but, according to the Safe Eyes support, it only needs outbound ports 80 and 443.
What ports do I need to allow in my firewall?
Firewalls can interfere with the operation of Safe Eyes and prevent it from working correctly. In order to ensure correct operation of the Safe Eyes software, the following ports must be open for outbound connections:
80 (HTTP)
443 (HTTPS)
You do not need to allow any incoming connections to use Safe Eyes.
If your firewall controls individual programs as well as ports, "safeeyes.exe" (sometimes referred to as "Internet Content Filter" or "Safe Eyes Client Application") must be allowed to access the internet.

Well It's not the software, It's my modem for sure, because when I connect to the internet using my neighbor's network I can access safeeyes.com (the test site) otherwise when I connect using my Uverse network the site doesn't load at all

Well on a document file that pops up saying the software is blocked it says it needs the ports 4100, 4500 in addition to those mentioned. I'm running Windows 7.
Other software that I'm running doesn't matter as it's a router issue, as I've said before I can access the test connection site www.safeeyes.com when I connect my computer to a neighbor's network but can't when I use my Uverse network. Can anyone access that site? Because normally it forwards you to www.internetsafety.com as part of the test but I can't access www.safeeyes.com it times out

I can access the site just fine, but I'm on old-style DSL and different modem and router.
When you switched to Uverse and set up your computer to use the new Uverse gateway, did you set the network to "home" or trusted network? If you move a win7 box to a different/new network it will reset security to max (including the firewall). If you've been connected to your neighbor's network before, your security for that network could have been lowered already.
It would seem that if the error says it needs ports 4100 and 4500, and you forwarded those ports in the NVG that the only thing left blocking it would be the computer.
Have you tried pinging the site or doing a tracert to see if you can actually reach it (not just a browser error)?
