Hi - I had a very difficult time getting good line quality initialy, but it was corrected and has been pretty stable for 2 years. Now, however, I had spurios link resets and I'm getting a huge number of corrected blocks. Last week, the outside tech ran a line test, found nothing. Scheduled inside tech. He replaced the gateway and the customer NID. Since then, I've been monitoring the gateway stats and resettig them everyday. Over the past 24 hours, I've had 33354 corrected blocks. No uncorrected blocks, no link retrains. When the link was fixed, 2 years ago, the corrected blocks were in the 10-20 range over many days. I suspect there is an issue in the line, but need help. My experience with the techs coming out to review the issues was such that I don't believe them and "SomeJoe7777" was extremely helpful in getting the link stableized. He ran a line test and saw the Opens/shorts/bridge tapes - 50 feet from the Vrad.
Would "Somejoe7777" help me again?

Has anthing changed in you environment, new appliances, air condition, treadmill, etc.
Personally if within past 24 hours your stats stay corrected there is no real issue.
Why? uverse allows up to 100 corrected errors per min or 144,000 within 24 hours.
Your 33354 in 24 averages out to 23.16 per min. Now i do not believe you are getting
Those every minute but reported in 15 min. Increments find high number and consider
What was happening during that time.
To suspect is one thing to verify is another,
Could be inside house yes
Could be outside your house yes
Could be beyond uverse control, yes
Signal noise ratio level varies based on strength of signal to relative interference.

Thanks for your response. Screen shots are posted below. From my monitoring, it appears that most of these correctable errors happen in the middle of the night when there is no user activity. I do have occassional TV pixelation, short duration screen freezes, and loss of audio - picture is active, switching channels and returning to the channel corrects this.

That line looks stable, very stable. The bitloading graph is clean with no indications of major interference sources.
You should see my line. 700 feet according to UV Realtime and I've had 406,251 Corrected Blocks in a period of 27 days.

As for why the behavior has changed from the past, it could be as simple as someone else in your neighborhood became a U-Verse subscriber. Their VDSL signal can cause some interference with yours if they're in the same cable bundle. The gateways and the VRAD are designed to handle this and do so by correcting the errors in transmitted blocks.
Unless you have more severe problems with your Internet or IPTV service, your line looks very good and does not need any additional work.

Thank you for your review of this and your expertise. All in all I agree with your assesment. I will continue to monitor, as there are some strange symptoms that occur infrequently, TV freeze (momentarily), audio stops but picture continues (very weird, changing channels and then back again corrects this, but it's annoying).
Prior to the gateway swap, changing between channel 1002(CBS HD) and 1108(TNT HD) would cause 1002 to not display (no pic or audio) for 15-30 seconds. Has not happened since the swap.
Again, I appreciate your rexpertise and will report more details when/if they occur.

Thought I'd post the error stats, plesae note the time frames - 4:06PM and 7:15PM. The difference in corrected number of blocks is: 16793 in a 3 hour timeframe, 189 minutes, 88.85/minute (average). During this time frame, I experienced a few screen "pauses", slight freezes, all on channel 1108 (TNT HD). Channel 1108 seems to be the most problematic for me.

~16K corrected blocks in a 3 hour time frame is not a big deal. Many people have several thousand every few minutes and have no issues with their service.

And since the Corrected Blocks are corrected in hardware by the VDSL dedicated modem chip in the gateway, it's a seamless correction of the data.
The raw VDSL signal comes into the modem chip, the data is decoded and corrected if need be (corrected blocks), and then passed onto the Ethernet side of the gateway's hardware. The data is corrected in the modem chip before the Ethernet side of the gateway's hardware even sees the incoming data.
In theory, you could have millions of corrected blocks a minute and as long as the data is correctable, you will have no problems. That is, in theory of course.
Obviously, the better the VDSL chipset the better things will be and the better it will be able to handle high amounts of corrected data. Over the years VDSL chipsets have become better able to handle abnormal line conditions. A perfect example of this is the Motorola NVG589. The NVG589 has been shown to be able to handle "dirtier" lines than the Pace 3800/3801 ever was able to handle.

Thank you all again for your review and expertise - much appreciated. Here is an interesting observation... each day I had corrected blocks, differing amounts for timeframes. I also have the wireless portion in use for an HP printer. Yesterday when trying to use the printer, it would not connect reliably to the wireless portion of the network. So, last evening, I connected via wired connection so we could use it. This morning I noticed the corrected block count did not increase from the value last evening when I went to bed. Today, after much investigation and troubleshooting, I resolved the issue and it is now reliably connected. Interestingly, the number of corrected blocks since last night and after reconnecting it wirelessly is 0, nada.
So, my observation is that the wireless portion of the gateway device was causing the corrected block count to increase. Is this becasue of broadcasts? or activity on the gateway? Very curious indeed.

I've sent 3 emails to the address provided 2 yesterday and 1 this morning, but have yet to hear from anyone. I've been reviewing the forums on audio loss, and most point an issue using HDMI and 5.1 surround sound. I am using HDMI, but have my STB (Cisco) set to stereo - directly connected to the Samsung TV. I lost audio on 1108, and 1602 last evening. Some momentary some for maybe 30 seconds. Forums point to a syncing issue of the audio stream and most are from a couple years back. But I have this issue currently. Is there a solution?
