I've just ordered U-Verse TV (U200) & Internet (Internet Max 12MB) with 1 DVR and 1 wireless STB. I currently have an AT&T landline and AT&T Elite DSL (6MB). The kink in this install is that I live aboard a 42' sailboat. The marina has its own FTTN VRAD - in fact, I can see it from my boat. My current twisted pair phone line is terminated in the AT&T box next to the VRAD.
I have some questions. Since I have copper to the boat and to my POTs phone and DSL modem, is there anything else that will be needed outside the boat?
I would like to prewire the DVR STB. I am assuming I can run Cat 5 or 6 from the RG location to the DVR location. Does the type of RG dictate Cat5/6 or coax? I want to have an HD TV connected to the DVR STB, and use the wireless STB for a SD TV. Any problems with that configuration?
Anything I need to do at the RG location? The new U-Verse RG will replace my DSL modem at the same location. The landline is terminated at the proposed RG location.
Thank you in advance,
Rodney

rodney_k - Sounds like you nailed it. Please take a portrait picture of the installers face & post it. I want to see the smile.
LOL, are you saying this install should be a piece of cake? I will go ahead and run a cat 6 cable to the DVR location. Thanks!!
