I can't get the iphone app to connect to my receivers, it keep saying wireless gateway not found

You must use WiFi (as opposed to mobile data) for this to work.

Also, if you have your own router to which your iPhone connects, I think you're going to need to have it configured as an Access Point, not a router.

Also if the ecryption on the wireless is not WPA2 only this can cause issues between certain routers and Apple products.
