Hi all,
I recently (2 weeks ago) got U-verse installed and now realize that I need to install at least 2 of my receivers vertically. I called customer service and they told me that there were no stands available. A neighbor has the stands for some of their receivers but they got them during installation. Does anyone have any idea where I can get some?
Thanks for the help!

You do know that the IR receiver is on the front of the STBs?? So, if placed vertically you would want to bounce the signal off the ceiling.
I did that by placing an STB on the TV mount, behind the TV, with the front aimed at the ceiling.

Stands are available for the STBs but only the technicians carry them. For some reason there is no way to get them other than during the install. They allow the STB to stand vertically and are custom fit for each model receiver (Motorola or Cisco). I don't think there's another way right now, the best bet is if you have your technician's phone number then see if they can drop them off if they're in the area.

I made my own out of wood for my BR STB. Some scrap wood and a jig saw.

You could probably sell some of those to others. ![]()

I recall this topic from a while back, so I went looking--according to the discussion here , the Moto manual does not recommend a vertical position. ![]()
I don't think anyone has ever mentioned actually having one of these stands, or posted photos?
They must have a ton of these sitting around somewhere, why not offer them to customers (who request them) for free like the remotes? ![]()

That's a correct stand for the Motorola boxes, the Cisco stand is slightly different with a rounded front, but much the same look. As for how to get those beyond from a technician, sorry don't know how that would work because it's only a stocked item for the install. Maybe there will be sometime where care can ship those out but I don't know if/when that will happen.

It's interesting that nobody has ever mentioned them before. I never even saw the cardboard boxes for my equipment because if I had a look inside, I would have grabbed those!
Thanks for the info.

It's not part of the equipment kit, it's actually a separate internal part number that is ordered and kept on the trucks for use when required, just like wall mount brackets for the 3801. Sorry, only way I can think of is you'd need to get one from a tech.

I knew about the wall mounts for the 3800 when I got mine.
I'll be stalking techs.
Better chance of finding them onboard in the special Uverse vans, or any ATT truck?

I didn't know there were 3800 or 3801 wall mount brackets.
I think it was SomeJoe who had posted pictures of mounting his via bolt holes under the feet; that was the only way I knew to wall mount them. Mine sits in a stand. I'm just too lazy to do it right, I guess.

IIRC, Koolkid posted on uverseusers, a diagram/photo sheet, but don't ask me to find it now! They switched servers a few years back and broken links everywhere (sound familiar?). ![]()
My RG has no choice but to sit in the stand on the desk since *someone* installed with a too-short coax line.
