Just got a Quad Core Gateway with Viusta-64 installed so I weanted to stream out to my 360 in the other room. I have ATT Uverse and I'm trying to run the box from the wall to the box to the PC via Coax. I had an old Tuner card before that Vista couldn't detect so I bought a AverMedia A188c PCIe(1) Pure ATSC tuner card that said worked fine with Vista/7-64.
Card Info-Description from NewEgg
This digital TV receiver not only receives Over-the-Air (ATSC)/Unencrypted ClearQAM (Digital Cable) signals but supports HD sound and image quality up to 1080i resolution, with variable aspect ratios of 4:3 and 16:9. Thanks to the high bandwidth of the PCIex1 interface you can watch flicker free HDTV on your Windows Media Center PC. Advanced PVR functionality lets you pause and rewind live TV, schedule recordings ahead of time and fast forward through the show to watch it at your own pace.
Installed nicely but when I try and setup the tuner card WMC sees it as a TV-Antenna with low signal and if I try and do it manually it let's me choose the tuner card I want but never let's me choose Cable, Uverse, Antenna or anything it just automatically pulls TV Antenna. And that is where I get stuck.
Also this Box I'm just using for testing to get the PC going but it is normally in the bedroom with Component out...is there any thing that needs to be setup on the box to only use Co-Ax...if so how the heck do I do that? ![]()
Please help!
Thanks,
Rich

I think I might have had it connected wrong earlier. So now I have
The Tall ATT box(where it has the ethernet ports and phone line in) connected to the ATT receiver box Coax in to the coax in of the Tuner card. Thought that would help. But no it doesnt.
If I do connect the Tall box directly to the TV tuner card it says "No signal detected."
When I connect as listed above it does see the connection but only as a antenna. What the heck is going on? I never see the option to say "Cable."

Regardless of the capabilities of your tuner card, you must have a UVerse STB (set-top box) connected to the tuner card. As you found out, connecting the residential gateway (RG) (the tall box) to the tuner card does not work. Look through the threads in the How-to locked at the top of the equipment page -- there are detailed instructions for getting windows media center to work with UVerse. Also, do a search for Media Share, which will lead you to instructions on setting up sharing your media files from your computer to your TV. Lots of folks here are using WMC to watch TV on their computers, but you must have an STB connected to your tuner card for it to work. If the how-to's and searches don't help, post back and someone will try to help you. I'm using Vista-32 bit and my WMC/Uverse works fine, although I got lazy and just set the WMC to channel 3 and use the UVerse remote to change channels.
Welcome to UTalk. Keep after it, it'll work.![]()

Yeah I looked over all those while trying to get an answer here and nothing really applied to the point I don't get an option in WMC to search for Cable under Manual Setup.
I think if I had that option I could get this going. But I don't and I'm stuck.
