We have had U-verse for less than a week - good picture and channel selection but having a problem with TV's attached to wireless boxes freezing and then blue screen comes up saying that lost signal - stays on screen for a minute or so and then the picture comes back on and is fine. This is happening on 2 TVs attached to wireless boxes 4+ times a day. TVs hard wired are not having this problem.
Any ideas - thanks!

How far are the wireless receivers located from the WAP attached to the U-verse gateway?

Less than 20 feet to each wireless. Getting full bars on both wireless boxes.
Another thing that I just noticed is that when the channel freezes if you change channels up or down the new channel is working fine and then if you change back to the channel that was frozen it is working fine again???

When the signal is lost momentarily it is not able to update the screen with the changes. It might be interesting to see if it will recover by itself if you wait a few minutes.
Changing channels requires a completely new screen. Kind of a jolt to the memory. Then the old channel is completely new.
The root cause is an intermittent loss of signal. Any chance of making a wire connection??

When it loses signal and you don't change the channel it goes to a blue screen saying that "Signal Lost" - It stays on that page for 30-60 seconds then it resets back to the picture and works fine for a while.
I am sure they will come back (or at least I hope) and hard wire to the tv's currently running on wireless. I actually expressed concern during the installation about using the wireless vs a hard wired connection and the installer assured me I would not have any issues with the wireless. Do you think that is what I should do?

I have 2 wireless receivers, and I am not having the issues that you describe. One of the wireless receivers is located about 50 feet from the WAP.
There was a firmware update for the wireless receivers several weeks ago to address some issues. Can you verify the firmware update on your wireless receivers:
MENU > Options > System Options > System information > System info
The latest TV2 client version should be 2.1.2512.52
