When my Uverse was installed, I noticed that the tech changed all the coax cable ends/connectors to new ones (gold with a blue band, labeled PCT-TRS-6L). Does anyone know why they do this? I now want to move my receiver and need a longer cable from the wall jack to the receiver - do I need to buy the new-type connectors (where?) or can I remove the connectors from the current cable (how?) and then use a new longer coax cable? Thanks for your advice.

Because they are compressed and not crimped like standard coax cabling. Crimped connectors can cause freezing/pixelization problems on Uverse. ![]()

Thanks for your info. Do you know if there is somewhere that I can buy a 15 foot (or longer) cable with these type of connectors?

Go here: http://www.monoprice.com/products/subdepartment.as
Can live chat/call to see if they are compressed or crimped. Good luck ![]()
