U-verse DVR often has a long delay before turning on, and menus selections such as channel changes, info, and starting recorded shows, also have a long delay before action. Last, Deleting a recorded show often takes longer than a minute to delete & return to picture. Your Help functions do not include this type of problem fix listed. Is it possible Drive needs to be "Defragged" at times? If so, you should include ths action for a fix.
Tried resetting box by powering off to reboot or whatever it does, but did not fix the problem.
This box was working fine until about 2 or 3 weeks ago, then started this "delay" problem.
There is no description or fix solution listed in your troubleshooting section (menu) options.
Considering it is a Hard-drive related box, and recorded shows are constantly being written then erased, similar to a computer drive, this may case Fragmentation of the recorded data? However, does not explain why box takes almost 30 seconds sometimes to "Turn ON" when remote on swaitch is pushed. ??? Thanks

I'll have to try that.

I have a similar problem with long delays but mine seemed related to only two functions: erasing a program and marking a program to be recorded. I mark a program either by highlighting it in the guide and pressing Record or using Record Episode from the program info screen. The delay is with both methods. The erase delay happens most times but not always. I usually end up with a message like TV service not available or DVR is working, something like that.
I have tried the sequential reset described: all power removed. RG powered on and stabilized. Main STB (DVR) on, Remote STB on. Problem remains. I also tried what I call a diagnostic reset when the Main STB (VIP 1225) powers up to the 'gears' image and runs its own self test. No change. This Main STB is about one month old as my previous one failed after several years. For the first few weeks the new one was fine but the problem has been ongoing for about two weeks now. I waited, suspecting a firmware upgrade but now I also suspect disk fragmentation. Should I request a new DVR?
Thanks for any help.
