Bose Lifestyle remote code for AT&T U-verse Motorola VIP1216 box

I'm looking for a remote code in the Bose Lifestyle's system that will control the Motorola VIP1216 cable box I have with my U-verse service. I have called AT&T, Bose, and tried many of the codes, even of other manufacturers, and cannot find one that works. Any advice would be great.

I have contacted Motorola today who informed me the VIP1216 was designed to AT&T's specifications. Motorola uses codes 0476 and 0276 for it's equipment. The VIP1216 doesn't work with these codes and AT&T doesn't have codes to provide us. I'm stumped.

These have been my options, the point is that I don't have to use both or spend money on another remote if I could have a working code. This should be a very simple fix.

Any luck on getting the remote control programmed?  I too have the Lifesytle V30 system and having trouble setting up the Uverse device.

I have a LifeStyle 48 with the same problem.  No support with Bose or AT&T.  I also have the Cisco box but can not make it work with my Bose remote.

I have played with it a little more and found if you use a Motorola code 1438 (I believe) it will sort of work with my Bose remote.  It does everything but every time I hit something on the remote it does it twice.  Move up or down a channel and it jumps two.  Push "1" and you get "11", etc.  I don't know why but that is what happens.  Ususally you get a code that does anything and it works, period. In this case, it seems to work but not quite right.  Try it and see what happens for you.

I couldn't find a Motorola code "1438" under any of the groupings. Is it under Cable, Cable/DVR, Satellite, Satellite/DVR, etc.?

It is under Cable, Motorola, and the code is actually 1483.  Try that and let me know what you see.

My discussion with Bose support 10:30 AM CST 3-23-09.

Lifestyle AV 48 Media Center and 321 II.

The Motorola UVERSE cable boxes are all new.  BOSE is working on coming up with a code that works.  They are not there yet.  When they get it, a software update will be released for the lifestyle system.

The 321 II is hard coded in the remote and will require a new remote with the new codes once they get the codes.

Do any of you know if AT&T U-verse is coming out with a radio frequency remote?  I also have a Bose Lifestyle 35 and have not had any success with the codes.  I would like U-verse to come out with a radio frequency remote to use on my non-Bose TVs.

I have had the same problem.  After switching from Comcast to AT&T, my Bose remote no longer controlled the cable box -- a Motorola VIP1216.  Bose sent me an updated remote and their latest software, but it still didn't work.  I am told by Bose that their is currently no solution.  I'm hoping that someone on this forum can find the answer.  Thanks.

I went down this same route last year when I got U-verse.  There is no remote code currently for Bose equipment.  AT&T, however, just introduced a new RF remote that allows you to point anywhere.  Below is the thread.  I ordered mine a few days ago and will post once I have a chance to try it out.

I hope Bose can come out with a code for U-verse, but I am not holding my breath.  Other blogs have said AT&T equipment is proprietary and won't open it up for other vendors?

Please re-read the thread I posted.  I added some posts since the last time I posted here.  The AT&T remote I received in the mail is NOT RF enabled, so don't buy it from the AT&T store.

I have the V30 Bose system. According to Bose,  there isnt enough at&t stb's out there compared to cable and sat for them to provide the codes for the remote.  Keep bugging Bose. Arrogant bastards.

No, it's not the RF remote.  Well, it may be RF capable, but AT&T didn't include the RF USB adapter.  All it does is plug into the STB USB to power the charging cradle.  Otherwise, it's exactly the same remote as the gray one that is free with Uverse service.

I think you are correct, the RF portion only pertains to the "finder" operation.

Yes, but my issue with AT&T is that I had a tech drop a new jack for a phone line and he showed me an internal website on his computer that said RF remotes are available for Uverse as of July 10th (he received an email a week earlier stating such).  Are there any techs on here that can confirm?

Nobody at corporate knows anything...typcial AT&T Uverse crap.

AT&T has come out with an RF Remote called the AT&T Point Anywhere RF Remote Control.  You can purchase it at the AT&T e-Store

Bose software update 5.01.01 will allow support for the u-verse commands on your Lifestyle remote. The code is under HD receivers > AT&T > 0858

The code does not include the controls for DVR functionality. It only will change channels and get you access to the menus and guide. Please add the DVR functionality AT&T by sending Bose the entire mapping for the Bose remote.
