We are a french family on vacation for two weeks in california in August. I would like to buy a prepaid voice and data sim card so that i can still use my LG nexus 4 mobile to phone in the us, use my GPS on my mobile and have access to internet for two weeks (500 mbytes OK)
Would you have a solution? What would be the price? Can i buy it from France?

The answer is very easy to answer, can I buy a working Sim card in France with Orange,SFR,Bouygues Telecom etc etc without a French address, passport information, and a credit card??
AT&T and most North America mobile phone company are working the same way.
You maybe able to buy a card online, but you're taking a risk, and most sim card sell online are not active.
My suggestion will be using free WiFi from hotels, coffee shops, burger place .
It just only 2 weeks

Once activated, calling and text messaging should work right away. Data probably will not work right away. You may need to change some APN settings to allow it to work.
The cost of the SIM could be anywhere from $3.00 from eBay all the way to $25 at an AT&T store. Activation is free and shouldn't cost anything. The overall cost of the service depends on which monthly
plan you decide to choose.

Hi Guichampion,Wild Banchi,
Just for your info. you need a USA address and a USA Credit Card to activate any AT&T sim card online now.

SIM cards are free at corporate AT&T stores.
