Firstly I was having trouble getting this into the right section, if someone would be able to move it for me that would be great.
I currently live in Australia and will soon be visiting the US and Canada. During my trip I will be bring across and Ipad and was looking to get it connected on a prepaid wireless plan with AT&T. I have been able to find information on the usage in the US but was concerned about the usage in Canada. I was wondering if anyone would be able to clarify things for me. Was currently looking at the $30 3GB plan.

First of all, with your Ipad, you need two SIM cards, one for USA and one for Canada.
Data plan in USA cannot do roaming in Canada!!
In USA, AT&T will take care of all you need, just go to any AT&T store, they will help you out.
Remember to Cancel your IPad Data plan from your IPad before you leave USA.
Data Plan from AT&T starting from US$15 for 250MB for 30 days, 3G speed only plan. LTE speed plan cost more.
For Canada, I don't know which area you're going,East coast or West coast,I will suggest you using Bell or Rogers network,
Data Plan for IPad cost more in Canada than USA. Cost for SIM card only is Can $5 to $10 plus tax of 5% to 15% . A one time set up fee cost Can $ 35 .Data Plan for 3GB cost Can $35 plus tax for 30 days. Can $15 plus tax may get you 250 MB of data for 30 days. Most hotels, coffee shops and Pubs in Canada got free WiFi for customer use.
Hope this help .
