I am a non-US citizen (I live in the UK) and needed a simple US mobile account for infrequent visits to the USA that would work with my current phone.
I bought a pre-paid 'GoPhone' SIM in August and added $100 credit to it so that it would not expire for a year. I applied $50 at the time for a month's calls and data, and spent another $15-$20 in assorted short international calls and texts over the next couple of weeks before I went home on 30 Aug, and removed the SIM and stored it. I ensured that all recurring charges were turned OFF (they still are, I've checked on my account via the website) so that my remaining credit balance would still be available for me when I'm back in the USA next month.
I've just checked the account, and they have made an unauthorised $25 charge in the middle of September, so my credit balance is almost zero, despite the SIM not even being in a phone.
I want to get this sorted out before I'm back in the US next month, but cannot seem to find an email address for AT&T customer support, and the online chat feature says that I need to register the phone to my account before chatting to support - but when I try, it says I cannot register a prepaid GoPhone number to an account.
Has anyone got any suggestions as to how to contact the billing department to get this fixed? Obviously calling the USA from home is not an option, and I want to get this resolved before I travel.
Thanks for anyone's help...

Hope someone may help you. My advice is save yourself some trouble and money for Long Distance, get a new Sim card and start all over .Cheers.

What sort of new SIM card do you suggest? I still have some credit left on this one, and this GoPhone prepaid option seemed to be about the best overall value to get US calls plus 3G data, on a non-contract basis, that I could just top up whenever I'm in the states and use with my own phone (a UK Samsung Galaxy S3).
I just need to find a way to get in touch with Customer Services.

I ended up phoning AT&T from the UK.
They said that a $25 GoPhone prepaid 30-day payment (non-contract) automatically generates a recurring $25 charge every month until you run out of credit! I said if I'd wanted to pay monthly, I'd have taken out a Pay Monthly contact account - how does that make this a Pay as You Go account?
Suffice to say they have credited the $25 back again, and changed the account so it won't charge me every 30 days until I'm back in the US next month and I apply a new 30-day $25 payment.

Good to know it works out for you mate,it is correct that AT&T will automatically generates a recurring $25 charge every month. If you use the $25 monthly plan.
That's why I'm using the daily plan with AT&T .
Still better than some mobile network in UK,you need to make a chargeable call every 90 days,or else you will lost your number and credit on the account.
