AT&T Go Phone - Can't receive text messages anymore !

Hello everyone,

I brought my AT&T phone last month, and decided to go for the $25 monthly plan. I am in the middle of my 1st month (my credit expires on October 31st 2012 before I re-credit it myself), however, since 2 days I cannot receive text messages anymore.

It worked well during the first 20 days but now I cannot receive text messages anymore (but I can call, receive calls and send text messages).

I tried chating to the Go Phone online sales person but she said she cannot help me.

I also tried registering on the At&t Go Phone website, however, I do not know about my 4 digit PIN number. So I tried to receive it by completing the "forgot your password" part. However it says that it will send it to me by text message.

I feel so desperate about this that any of your answers are welcome.

Hi there, this is also a problem for me. I have a prepaid account & my phone has periodically stopped receiving texts over the past 4 or so months. Last time it happened I did a factory reset to resolve the problem, but apparently that was only a temporary solution.

I have been having the same problem with my phone it would call, receive calls, and send texts perfectly find the only problem is I can't receive messages. I have credit in my account so I would like to receive help as soon as possible since I use my phone in a dealiy basis.

Your best bet is to contact customer care from another phone for trouble shooting, it most likely is a out of syn feature in their system somewhere.

I'm having sort of the same issue, but it's only with picture messages. I was sending and recieving pictures messages fine before my last renewal, but then the 7th rolled around, I renewed, and now I can't recieve picture messages. My boyfriend gets a notification from me when I try to send him one, but he can't download it. He just recently got a Samsung Galaxy S Blaze and everything was working fine until that renewal date.

There is no way I am dealing with AT&T Customer Service on the phone. I hate the customer service.

Double check both lines through the online account manager, make sure that the data features are still on there, either the monthly package or the pay per use feature, if 1 or the other or neither are there then unfortunately a call to customer care may be in order (call from another phone so you can test to make sure it works when they say they fixed it) if you can not re-add the data feature at the monthly cost or the pay per use feature on your own.

I checked earlier in the day and my rate plan is still the same- 250 minutes with unlimited texting which is both texting and picture messaging. His plan includes unlimited texting as well and even a data package now, but that's aside the point.

I don't even get a notification or anything when he tries to send me a picture message.

The worst part about trying to get ahold of customer service? Sitting on 611 and waiting to speak with a representive. If there's a "direct" number, for the love of God, let me know.

mms is part of the messaging package however data is no, that is a entirely separate feature all together, you could always try to switch the sim cards between the phones, send a mms to each other from each phone (when sending put your number and his number as the destination, do this for both phones) and see if they come through. Let us know the outcome of doing this if you could please.

He's T-Mobile, so no way of switching phones and what not.

We figured it out for the time being- apparently he has to have his wifi on before I send a photo. Which is more of a hassle than anything, because I can't spontenously send a picture. I have to say "Hey, I'm going to send you a picture"- make sure he turns his wifi on, and boom.

Maybe it's my phone telling me that I have to get a new one, I've had this one for nearly four years now.

if he has to turn his wifi on then it is his data on the actual phone that is not turned on, he is using a Samsung Galaxy S Blaze, Does he see any of these icons?. Also make sure that the wifi indicator is completely turned off so that the icon is not even on the screen.

Well no, he only sees the 4G icon if he turns on the 4G himself.

If he he has to turn it on then that is why he can not send or receive mms without using WiFi, data has to be turned on to use mms.
