I was lied to by AT&T. I got a upgrade for my phone so I decided to get the Skyrocket. I ordered it over the internet through Walmart. When I came to the Data selection there was no selection for the data selection that I use. I had the basic 200MB that was 15.00 a month. The cheapest now was a 300MB at 20.00 a month. So I called AT&T and was told to just select the cheapest one and when I get my phone to call them and because I was grandfathered to the other plan that they would just switch me back. Well I did so and they kept telling me that it cant be done when I called them. So basically I was lied to so I would Upgrade my phone and be stuck on a new two year contract paying an extra 5bucks a month for something I don't use as I am usally on wifi most of the time. I would not even upgraded if I was un able to switch back.

They Can say well we tried to get a hold of you but no one answered.

Well, I was contacted, and got the run around. The person I talked to kept telling me different reasons to why it could not be turned back. Every time I took what they said, and had basically proved what they said wrong. This person had to examine my entire phone history starting back in 2002. What confused this person was that at upgrade time I always upgraded. Her looking at all the different models of phones I believe confused her. In the end On February 24th 2012 I was lied to by At&T. The women that tried to help me with this said, that she could switch it back but it would automatically switch itself to the highest per month setting. I really don't believe this, but if it is true so be it. In the end she told me it could not be turned back the way I was told.
If you ever come across something like this get the representatives name and a direct call back. I failed to do this an just figured anyone would be able to do it. If then after calling back and finding out it can't be done then you know exactly who the liar is. I asked my representative more than once and this person assured me it could be done. I feel this person should be fired or reprimanded, but this person probably got a promotion for meeting her quota of lying and getting people to upgrade. I should be refunded the 120 dollars plus what ever tax that at&t puts on that charge. Or pay $15 a month for the 300Mb plan as I will not go over 200Mb, but if I do just happen to accidental go over the 200Mb, then be charge the extra $5 dollars. Data is a giant money maker for At&t personally I don't usually go over 100Mb the extra 100Mb should be rolled over and added to the next month. Cause if I only use 98Mb one month and the next happen to go over by 1Mb. You get charged for extra when the extra you didn't use would easily cover this. So in all actuality if fair was fair at&t should refund you what ever Mb you have left and credit that to your bill. You should only be charged when you have used the Mb up. Really it is basically stealing from their own customers if you really think about it.
Thanks AT&T for lying to me and stealing from me well done.

So get this, after being lied to by AT&T and them telling me they can't switch back my Grandfathered plan of 200mb. From the 300mb that I currently have because they said, I would be able to. My fiance gets a upgrade and when doing this upgrade in which we have not gone all the way through with yet, AT&T gives her the option to keep the 200Mb plan how come she can keep it and I didn't have the option to? How come I can't switch back when I was told that I would be able to by a AT&T represenative. It is a option, if she can keep it, I definitly should be able to switch back because the fact I was told to call as soon as I got my phone and AT&T would switch me back. And I did, was lied to then, and lied to the second time when they said, it was not a option that it could not be done. Twice I was lied to.

Yeah, I ordered online through Walmart when I came to the data options the lowest was a 300Mb option. So I stopped there and Called At&t, they said, go ahead and select the 300Mb option, and as soon as I get my phone to call them and because I was granfathered to the 200Mb they would switch it back. I did so and they told me they can't do it, that it is impossible for them to do so. That it was not a option. Lied to first on 2/24/2012. Then a person contacts me later from posting on here to help me. They tell me that its not a option, that if they were to switch it back that it would automatically set it self on the highest data plan, this on 4/26/2012 Lied to the second time, as if it is a option to keep then obviously it would beable to be put back with out switching automatically to the highest data plan. Lied that the 200Mb plan was not a option.

Protip: when using at&t services it is best to deal with at&t directly, in person in a store, with the same rep. This all could have been easily avoided had you not gone though a third party.
