In the past when doing an upgrade I was given the option to bill the equipment to my account. Has AT&T stop letting you do this?
I have not seen this option being available for general customers for many many years! I remember a time, from personal experience, that Verizon or it's incarnation before that would spread the cost of the phone evenly across the contract period. If you have access to a corporate discount you need to have ATT check on what agreement there is for that arragment.

I just did my upgrade to the lumia 920 on my account on Nov 9th and the equipment was billed to the account. I did it through Customer Service over the phone
what type of account do you have, have never seen this occur for regualr accounts, just premire accounts

I have a premier account. When I called to do an upgrade last month, I was told that I could not bill equipment to the account.
We bill the phones to the business account all the time
