When are we getting 3G coverage in our area? Zip code is 49091 (Sturgis, MI) I keep being told next quarter, or 2 months, or some other answer from the AT&T folks that work in the branch. We switched to ATT almost 2 years ago and would just like to know when the 3g coverage is going to be made available. Thank you!

It's hard to tell and give an exact date...I suppose as soon as your phones show 3G service, that's when it will be available. I'm sure you are using 3G phones?

I see that at&t is one of those companies that don't make announcement in advance regarding their network. I once asked about 4G and they could not give me an answer either. There are ways to find out from elsewhere.
If you saw notices of public meeting about proposed cell sites in your neighborhood, you could go to one to try to get some information. Not too long ago, there was a public meeting in my neighborhood about a new cell tower. It did'nt take long at all for them to erect the tower, with all the cell antennas up the tower.

Aymen to tbat, .sayer. Only online option really to get at&t "rep" to respond is post that question on the AT&T Facebook wall. I see Sturgis is between Chicago and Detroit. You are in between some heavily populated areas and it looks like your area isnt that small itself. Where I live, we had Edge for years! We just recently got an unannounced update to hsdpa which was a sweet surprise! Thank you Mama Bell! Maybe your area is in queue for some benefitted updated service being in such a favored demographic location! Hang in there!

There is no point asking here. The only official response you'll get from AT&T here is censorship. No one else who is willing to say anything will have an answer.

At least Sturgis is 'near' South Bend IN coverage area.
Sault Ste. Marie and Drummond Island probably won't ever see 3G.
