AT&T's 'infographic' a lie or just insulting to many users ?
http://www.att.com/Common/about_us/pdf/4g_evolutio
Virtually 100 percent of AT&T’s wireless network is covered by HSPA+, which, when combined with enhanced backhaul, enables 4G speeds
With cities in Kansas, Texas, Oklahoma, Wisconsin, Michigan, Kentucky, Georgia, Pennsylvannia, upstate New York, Washington, how can they claim that 'Virtually 100% of AT&T's wireless network is covered by HSPA+" ?

Nah - even that
Most of states like Texas and Washington have been AT&T since AT&T Wireless days. Some of these areas are rural, but to call 'virtually 100% of AT&T's wireless network as covered by HSPA+' is pure bull.
I drive 5 miles from my house in Southern California, and I have a full 2G/EDGE service, but no 3G / 4G.

with that stated I would say that the choice of wording definitely was of bad taste and crossing if not border lining misleading myself.

The problem is that I don't see any '*' referencing the 100% to anything such as a PC World test.
The claim that:
'Virtually 100 percent of AT&T’s wireless network is covered by HSPA+, which, when combined with enhanced backhaul, enables 4G speeds" is just wrong.

uh actually att's broadband network IS completely covered by HSPA+. Those areas where there is enhanced backhaul is when youll get 4G speeds on HSPA+. Don't understand how that is hard to figure out.

"Not physically existing as such but made by software to appear to do so."
I think that fits perfectly! The coverage doesn't actually exist, but is made by ATT's coverage map to appear to do so!

@joeshmo2010 - the infographic mentioned by formercanuck doesn't say "AT&T's broadband network", it specifically says "AT&T's wireless network". Don't understand how that is hard to figure out.

if there is 3G, there is HSPA+ for the most part, I'd say it's really like 88-90% of their 3G coverage also has HSPA+. if there isn't any 3G there is for sure no HSPA+
