Texas is a very large area. I am sure the whole state is not down. A little more information might be helpful. As your zip code, or city.
I live in North Texas, just east of DFW and am not having any difficulties.
Also, what type of phone do you have. That could help in trying to resolve your dilemma.
Just saw you have an Iphone. Did you try turning off 3G and see if you had voice service?

This is not a 3G issue, it is a tower issue. I've had very little to no service for almost a month. I've heard people say that it's the tower down or that it's a dispute between AT&T and Cellular One (who owns the tower), etc. Bottom line: the service rep I spoke to advised me I could purchase a microcell tower for my home for $200 so I would have signal at my house. Are. You.Kidding.Me?! I REFUSE to pay $200 to make a service work that I already pay $200/month for!! By the way, I've also heard that they are letting people out of their contracts because of this issue--my elderly neighbors called me to let me know that they were able to get out of their contracts early. That leads me to believe that the problem is a lot more severe than just some tower issues....

I have very little to no service in and around Rockdale, TX. When you do manage to get a few bars it drops as quickly as it comes. Really frustrating when others with Verizon have 3G coverage and I can only get E occasionally! No response from AT&T about this issue. I have been a customer with 3 lines and an iPad for years and pay them over $250 every month. Guess I will be switching to VZ when my contract is up if not sooner!
