Does AT&T know when Morgantown, WV will be getting LTE? Verizon just put LTE towers on top of the Hotel Morgan here and is getting ready to activate there service. Needless to say Verizon only offers 1x in Morgantown. Morgantown is only about 60 miles south of Pittsburgh so it should be an easy market to target LTE for! I just got the new iPhone5 so I wann see how LTE runs on this baby! hahaha

Good luck! The Charleston/Huntington market is always the first to be upgraded in WV and we've not heard a peep as to when that is going to happen.
I know Verizon has had 4G LTE here for going on 6 months to a year now. At least we do have the fake 4G here which is a better than a sharp stick in the eye I suppose lol.

I was told, LTE is in the cheat lake area by my sales Rep in Morgantown. She was not 100% sure about that statement so I don't know. I have not ventured out that way as yet. Not sure why they would put LTE in that area and not in Morgantown the has 40,000+ students in it.

There is no LTE services in Morgantown offered by AT&T. Verizon has assured customers that they will see towers turning on throughout the week since their official announcement from the area just north of Cheat Lake and into the area from there and points north as it interconnects to their existing network in Pennsylvania. The only reason Charleston-Huntington was updated to LTE services through Verizon was thanks in part to Sen Rockefeller. As the head of the Telecommunications comittee in DC as part of Verizon's agreement in purchasing new spectrum they were to increase and enhance broadband wireless data within West Virginia. Verizon has already set out plans to turn on LTE services throughout West Virginia. Charleston was the first market to get it due to the takeover of former WV Wireless by the company. Morgantown was slated to be next followed by Clarksburg and Fairmont, then following into Beckley which has been activated, Wheeling/Weirton, Parkersburg, and then the Martinsburg area. Supposedly LTE will travel the length of I-79 from Charleston north to Morgantown. Unsure to how long that will take Verizon to activate but their roadmap after the agreement has everything finishing around the end of 2013/start of 2014. AT&T will probably do what it does best and continue to ignore the fact that the state of West Virginia exists and just continue deploying this sad excuse they want to call 4G which is about the same speed as their old crappy EDGE network that does nothing when I've used it. No data or text messaging at all in EDGE areas on AT&T. I have been considering a move to Verizon thanks in part to this LTE deployment. I'm a heavy iPhone data user and I'd love to be able to watch YouTube once or listen to a streaming radio station without it stalling or telling me "No Data Connection".

My phone is picking it up in Morgantown now. It looks like we're on this list as well.

Speed is a bit jumpy. I assume that because it's not the end of summer, they're still working on it.

Seems like AT&T has been paying attention to the customers in the area. It's nice to see them activate LTE before Football season so it can be top notch when football kicks off this fall. It will be interesting to see how AT&T LTE holds up with the influx of over 100,000 people in Morgantown on a three day weekend bender. I'm also happy to report my 4G speeds look more 4G than 2G. I've been able to get over 1MB in speed for the first time since I got my iPhone 4S in AT&T 4G coverage. I've noticed some days I can top out over 7MB download using AT&T which is about as fast as my apartment complex 75% of the time. It's nice to see some improvements finally happening. Hopefully they get more of the areas I travel including the entire length of 79 from Morgantown to Chareston connected to 4G, all of US 19 covered in 4G, and my hometown who has suffered with EDGE since CellularOne was the original owner of services.

I'm glad to see that they finally activated LTE service in Morgantown. I believe they were having 3G congestion issues, especially during peak times and events at WVU. I'm sure they will do an expansion soon to cover more of the area like Fairmont. LTE service also went live in Huntington, WV today.
