Hi,
I'm thinking of switching from a contract plan to a GoPhone plan, but I've heard the coverage is worse if you pay-as-you-go. Can anyone here confirm/ deny this? If it is worse, could you describe how bad?
Thanks, any advice will be greatly appreciated

Welcome to the forums.
Prepaid coverage on AT&T's network is huge, but please keep in mind that there is lower prepaid coverage compared to postpaid.
I would not say its bad, it's one the best coverages there is on the market. However, you would need to investigate how well your area is covered by the coverage map.
Hope that helps!

I have a prepaid account and coverage is excellent for me, I even get service on the train going through a tunnel. To expand on Evandela's point Go Phone has less of a coverage area than a post paid account because I believe of limited to no roaming, especially towards the Mid West, so be sure to do your homework before you take the plunge. You can check AT&T's coverage map as well as http://www.rootmetrics.com/ for a better idea of the coverage in your area. And btw, what's up Evandela?![]()
