This is the 2nd day in a row that I have had no coverage, then randomly coverage comes back for a few hours then kicks out.
Instead of calling Tech. Support every time this happens via chat, is there any network outage map that can be put up so I can just see what's happening without the hassle?
(Or: has anyone else been having this problem? I am in an area wiht just 1 cell tower around a mile away from me, so this is getting annoying.)

There is no outage map or listing of known outages. The best thing you can do is always call customer service and report it every time it happens. I agree its a pain to use chat or call esp when you either have to find a different phone or wait for the service to be restored just to report it after the fact. But the more people that call/contact ATT and complain each time the more it will be an issue for ATT to get it resolved. If people are not complaining its not going to be as big of an issue for them.
Since this is customers-2-customer support forum by posting on here you would only know if someone in your area/region is posting with the same issue. ATT doesn't officially respond here. So while you report an issue it not very likely you will hear from others on the same area on the same towers/network. So its more just to report something and vent.

Its helpful if you post a location (city, state, zip) so people would know if they are in the same area as to decided if they should report if they are having the same issue or not.
I could state I have great coverage and no issues. But me being in Colorado Springs, CO 80916 is probably of no help to you since I would guess you not in my area.

This is becoming very familiar and seem like a trend that cant be ignored. I am having the EXACT same issues and it started in April 2010. But as of 5 days back now, i have not had a successful cell phone call without the fluctuating signals chopping up the conversation to dropping calls. Received a 'case number" from tech support, but i have not seen any resolution all this time.
What ticks me off most of all is when i called about the drastic change in service on 5/17, tech support and customer service 'swears' there are no logs in their ssytem that i called in the issue. what can you do about that... nothing...

I wish the first customer service teck told me this instead of "all towers are fine in yur area"............
Ok, it has been confirmed that there are three towers down in my area dut to a storm that did come throu gh weeks ago. It was not reported to ATT until last week.
They promise to have two of the three towers working (one by tnite and the otehr by tmorrow) then the third tower by end of the month.
The one 'good' tower that is close to my home is overtaxed and thats why my services suddently went downward. WHEW... i am glad it has nothing to do with the ATT expansions/updates and maybe it knocked our area off the map...
Glad this can be resolved soon

Has Colorado improved any ?
I know Denver was a whole - but I suspect that a lot of it was due to a relative lack of spectrum (compared to most othen metros).

There appears to be no place on the ATT wireless web site to even report a problem. Obviously it would be technically feasible to have a map, to report/post problems with details about geographical extent and length of time, etc. Too bad ATT does not initiate this. No one expects service to be perfect 100% of the time but to not keep customers informed is disrespectful of our time and needs.
BTW, am not sure where devices are to be entered. Using a iPhone 3g (for now).

You would think ATT would have such a link on their page that identifies ongoing outages, issues and current reported downspots like a "Help Desk" site for a corporate business does in similar industries. To me, that would be a good step toward customer service and at least, alert users ahead of time of potential outages, and current problems, This would at least cut down calls to CSR , etc.
When we call our help desk, theres even a recorded version of whats on the help desk online screen, giving a brief announcemenet of current reported outages, issues, and upcoming downtime, and if we hear something that relate to our problem (while waiting to get to real person), we could either take that info, hang up because we know its reported or stay online to pursue further.
There re some sites separate from ATT that users can log issues that can be helpful to others as they notice problems with calls. Such sites helped me identify three towers that were down in my area a few years ago that ATT says they didntknow all three were down, but knew one of the towers were over worked. Long story short, Yep, a coverage/map with updates would be nice.

No, the reason ATT doesn't have maps of problem areas is because the competition would eat them alive.
It is much eaier to try and hide a flaw than expose it to the world.
I have NEVER had a problem with a carrier losing a tower for extended periods of time with any other carrier I have had for the last 20 years.

Such an old thread yet these things are still so common.
Here we have had bad to no coverage since yesterday yet when contacting AT&T they simply state "all our towers are reporting fine." Well isn't it odd that this end of town suddenly has no coverage? Anyone with a 4G H+ phone gets an instant Call Failed and incoming calls go straight to voice mail. I've called numerous times as have others and we all get the same song and dance. Come on AT&T listen to people calling in for a change and tell your support people to lose the bad attitudes.

I agree with the previous poster. I just registered on this site to find out what's going on. I called AT&T support because I couldn't call out of my wife's phone and they told me to get a new SIM card at the local AT&T store. But then we noticed my kids' phones weren't calling out either. I go to the local AT&T store and the rep said there was some cell tower work going on in the far east side of town. How can phone support not know what's going on in the local area? The rep said it could go on as long as three more days. This could be the straw that breaks the camel's back. I've been a longtime customer, since Cingular days, but I believe I'm going to make a change once my contract is up if this doesn't get fixed soon.

I'm in Orlando, FL, so way south of you. Wonder if there's just system overload in the New Year with people sending texts, making calls, or sending pictures, etc.

No issues that have hit me in SoCal. Its been a few years since I've had issues with calls.
I'll be hitting CES, and see how it goes there. CES itself has a microsite/DAS, but the strip is typically terrible.

This happened to both my phone, and my wife's, for a couple of hours on 1.5.12. Earlier today (1.7.12), both of us lost the ability to make or receive calls or texts and occasionaly get "Emergency Calls Only" messages while attempting to connect. I'm in Columbus OH, zip 43229. I've had nothing but problems with ATT in general, but this is the first time I've had this specific bugaboo.

Hi,
Doesn't excuse long term outages or what have you, but I did read in the Sentinel that ATT was upgrading the area to the 4G/LTE system after the first of the year (don't remember what the exact date was, if it was even mentioned). But over here in the Clermont area, I am having trouble today with EXTREMELY SLOW connection speeds on the aircard. Tech support just told me that there are outages reported in FL but not exactly where. This is the first time in at least a year that I have had this type of trouble with internet connection - it's there but dial up would be faster.
Maybe tomorrow will be better.
Take care.

My two IPhones have been up and down for at least three days. I have been unable to make calls out and incoming calls go straight to my voice mail.Text messaging does not work either. A went to my ATT store and all I got was a laugh and was told there was a site down in my area. I ask when it would be back up and all I got was they were working on it. There was no one at my closes site so I assume that there was no one working this week end. I hope I don't have this outtage much longing as I will have to go to another carrier. I use one of the phones in my business. If I do the Uverse is gone too.

This is interesting, I've also been having problems similar to this for the last month or so. Calling support has done nothing for me and it's really not mbeen workth my time to struggle with it. T-Mobile might have a new customer coming their way if AT&T doesn't pick it up sson.
