Logan Co KY is shown on ATT coverage map as having 3g. I bought a new 4S that only operates as a 4S if I am out of the county(20 miles from home) Techs tell me maybe by summer we will have 3g when all the ads are for 4g now. Anybody else having coverage issues?
Without 3g, my new phone acts the same as my silver back iphone(2007)

Wish I had read this board before I bought my new 4s. Looks like lots of problems with coverage. Sprint and Verizon have coverage in this county but cannot share because of technology?

VZW and Sprint are using CDMA 1x/EVDO while AT&T is using GSM/HSPA+. There is a different technology, but I suspect that part of the original issue should be with AT&T advertising 3G throughout that county and not delievering. If it is not available on 3G anywhere in that county, I'd bring the device back to AT&T and port out to another service (Sprint/VZW) where 3G is available. No sense in paying for service that isn't there.
