So I originally has high speed dsl service with AT&T. Then, my girlfriend and I decided to get a landline.
I called and spoke to a sales rep (I have her name, and made a complaint about her, but was told AT&T "doesn't have a complaint department."). She said my phone would be installed the 23rd, and they would have to switch my Internet, so it would be down for a half hour.
Come the 23rd, I have no Internet. I ask the guy installing the phone line, he tells my they shut off my Internet, bu there is an order to turn on U-verse Internet on the 30th, A WEEK LATER. When I was talking to the sales rep. originally, I said twice that I don't want u-verse, and she's not signing me up for u-verse, is she, because I DO NOT WANT U-VERSE.
Twice when I called AT&T on the 23rd, my calls were dropped magically after I asked to speak with supervisors. So now, I have no Internet, was on the phone with AT&T for 3 HOURS yesterday, and AT&T can't connect my Internet until at least the 28th.
I am a student and have exams comming up, and it is a significant hardship for me not to be able to do my research online over thanksgiving break (like I had planned to do).
I would not recommend anyone do business with AT&T, because their sales people will mess your order up, sign you up for services you don't want. Their customer service department will then not be able to help you after you've had to spend hours holding and talking to them on the phone. And, after all that, they won't even be able to take your complaint because they "don't have a complaint department."
I have been a customer of AT&T for about 7 years. They used to be a good company, but my recent experiences with their customer service department have completely soured me on them to the point where I think they are criminals, and I hate the fact that they are the only landline provider in my area.
What happened to you, AT&T?
