I recently had a problem with my dsl being slow. Called at&t and they sent a tech out to check my lines. I understood that there would be a charge if the problem was inside my house. The tech found that the phone extension I had run under the carpet to the modem was the problem. The tech was courteous and professional.
I called to have and installer come out and run a line to the side of the house where my modem is located in order to get rid of the extension that I was using. He quoted a price of $200.00 an hour to install the line! He simply did not want to do the work.
I installed the line myself including going into the attic and also drilling a hole in my outside wall (brick). I took me approximately 2 hours. I live in Texas where the temperatures are in the triple digits. I am also 71 years old. The installer was just lazy.
