I can't register to see my ebill online

Hi community, hope someone has figured this one out. I can't register to see my ebill. I chose paperless billing when I signed up for DSL and now I'll never get a paper bill in the mail. Sounds great, right? However, at the very last page of the registration process to actually view and pay, there is reference to a customer number that appears ON YOUR PAPER BILL. Well if I never get a paper bill, how do you I see that number? Calling in was no help as I am now told I must take time from work to visit an official AT&T-owned retail location so I can get that super-secret "customer number." That can't be right! Why wasn't I just given the number at sign-up time? This makes no sense to me because convenience was the whole idea behind my decision to choose paperless right at the time of sign up. It does no good to receive an ebill if I can't actually pay it. The thing is: I want to pay. I can verify my identity very easily. Why would anyone else want to pay MY bill?

I'm sorry you're not able to register. It sounds like what you need is your account number.
If you'll please send me a private message with your name, phone number and the best time to contact you; I'll have a member of my team contact you to get this sorted out.
To send a private message, you can either click on the link in this message or click on the little blue envelope in the upper right hand corner, click "compose new message" and type my username in the "Send To" field.

Hi, I am having a similar problem. I signed up for U-Verse DSL at the end of August and opted in for paperless billing when I made my account, but I cannot register online to see my bill. I would very much like to pay my bill, but I can't because I never got a paper bill with the three number customer code. Please help me!
