Good one Phil! LOL, and I was going to say it's when you pass by the screen on your TV.
But it's probably a program......

I think he or she means SCEEN PACK. The useless movie channel subscription channel that the Uverse is trying to sell us for $5.00 a month.

"Ren: Now listen, Cadet. I've got a job for you. See this button? Don't touch it! It's the History Eraser button, you fool!
Stimpy: So what'll happen?
Ren: That's just it. We don't know. Maybe something bad, maybe something good. I guess we'll never know, 'cause you're going to guard it. You won't touch it, will you?"

Sorry 'bout that. Sometimes I get an urge I just can't resist.![]()
I looked at the promotional material but I can't see that it tells if there is a PPV fee on top of the monthly $5. Anyone know?

There are actually some gems in there if you scroll through. It is really no different than Crackle, Netflix Streaming, Amazon Prime. It really fills in the gap, where the prime pay channels leave off.
I guess that "beauty" is in the eye of the beholder. Comparing Screen Pack at $5 to Netflix at their rate, is like comparing a Yugo to a Ford Focus. IMHO.
I would compare Screen Pack to Crackle. There are two major differences 1) You can't get Crackle through your U-Verse Box and 2) Crackle is free and not $5, lol.

Click Here to see the list of what they have. I don't see anything that has an additional charge, but some movies and programs are available only if you already have Showtime or HBO.

Don,
If it says "ScreenPack" then you must be subscribed to the service to be able to view it. Once you subscribe for $5/mo you have access through OnDemand on your TV as well as online and mobile devices. 99% of the movies in Screen Pack are B and C movies that you should be paid to watch.

I have already subscribed to Netflix and Amazon Prime. Between those two service along with the On Demand from Uverse I don't need to pay for another movie/tv On demand service.

LOL OUfan! You got that right since some of these should be D and F movies! And I can't believe you have to be subscribed to the premium channels to view many of these never-heard-of movies. I have the premium channels and glad they don't show some of that crap on them ever.
I really didn't know the "U-verse Screen Pack" was even listed under "On Demand" on my TV until I checked yesterday after reading this thread. Kind of worried me at 1st because after going into it and clicking on "U-verse Screen Pack" again it quickly flashed "SUBSCRIBED". But then it quickly went to a screen prompt, "Call customer support to access" with the main number listed. Thanks but no thanks.

Uni, I have the premiums, this is totally different. This is another $5/mo subscription to watch these "gems". Thanks but no thanks. I'll stick to my package and Netflix.

Yeah OUfan, I understand it's a $5/month charge to subscribe to the "Screen Pack" and it's totally different than going directly into "Premium" when in "On Demand". I was just going by what "That Don Guy" said below as far as having to be subscribed to the premium channels to watch some of the movies.
Now I'm beginning to wonder if the movies in the Screen Pack which have the "Premium" labels across the bottom have anything to do with being subscribed to the "Premium" channels? Guess only someone who subscribes to the Screeh Pack w/o the premium channels would know who tries to watch one of these movies. If U-verse decided to put "Premium" across the movie as a good one then they're sadly mistaken and a poor choice of words. I can't see hardly any difference between the premium labeled movies, as compared to non-premium ones, and most look all bad to me.

free
by package (premium)
subscribed to screen pack
Pay per view
I clicked on one marked premium & it offered me to upgrade my package so I could watch the movie. I guess some people may want to watch the movie so much they would respond to that incentive.
I never did understand why people complained so much about the guide containing unsubscribed channels.
Now I know.
I only want to be offered the movies I can watch.
I aleo, was confused about a "subscribed" indication. But, never saw a screen pack movie & the charge is not on my bill.
Time for me to forget about this "feature" again.

Thanks aviewer for verifying someone w/o the premium channels would have to upgrade their channel package to watch one of these "Premium" labeled Screen Pack movies. The selection of the non-premium movies listed sure seems small and $5/month could be better spent elsewhere.

I believe the cable companies, such as Cox, also, offer a level of viewing for anyone for free.

I wonder if there will be a free online VOD service, backed by the Motion Picture Industry, like Spotify did for music?

I would say Crackle or Hulu (not plus) would fit the bill for that right now.
Resident Xbox ACE. Ask me almost anything about U-Verse on the Xbox.
Xbox Gamertag: americangame
PSN: americangame
Steam:americangame
When friending me mention that you found me on the AT&T forums.

Yeah, I was thinking beyond and above them. Two years ago, I beta tested a music service "Beyond Oblivion." They were to be saviors to the music industry. Unfortunately, they were like Crackle. Lots of content but most were beyond bad. Now Spotify has the record label's utmost attention. They get paid something per play. Better than nuthin. Spotify has most songs that I search for. True, there are some hold out labels / groups.
Hopefully a Spotify like service will develop for motion pictures. When you think about it, what is a motion picture house to do with their catalog of 5, 10 or 15 year old blockbusters? We know what they will do with the dogs, they go to Screen Pack or Crackle, lol but seriously, what about their older hits? Those won't fetch much to HBO or other premium channels. They can only be shown every two or so years on Network TV or a cable channel like TNT (unless it's The Shawshank Redemption, lol). Their sales and rentals have waned. Lower rated local/independent stations can't afford them, so why not a Spotify service with inserted ads that are paid back to the Movie Houses? I see something like that coming and I can;'t wait.
