email passwords

This may be the wrong board, but the webpage will not permit me to select the correct one.

I changed my password on the Webmail site for bellsouth.net.  My email program (Thunderbird) now says my password is rejected when it tries to download my email.  I tried entering the password I use for webmail, but it is rejected too.  Are the two passwords the same?  If not, how can I retrieve the password the mail server expects?

The two passwords are the same. I'd recommend logging into your account via att.com. Type in your email address and your password to authenticate.

ATT has stopped supporting email clients and encourages webmail.  Try posting the password question in the ConnecTech forum at the top of the page.

Both password for your webmail and thunderbird should be the same but if it is rejecting your password, re-configure the settings again for your thunderbird using the settings from this page http://tinyurl.com/cxywkqo and use bellsouth settings.
