So is your email client AT&T Yahoo? And if so I would assume you're using the new email instead of Classic?
Seem like lots of problems going on with AT&T Yahoo email these days if that's your client. Read the below thread for blocking/unblocking senders and if any of your contact show up on the blocked list remove them. Be sure and hit "Save" after doing this. Also make sure you don't have any filters installed which would send them to the spam or trash folders.

I went into mail options, entered both sender name & subject to go into my trash folder. I'm still getting these emails. I don;t understand why i'm getting these messages even after going into options & entering this info. How do i ensure i get emails into the proper folder?

In doing a search for your problem found your post from a month ago on the Wireless forum with the same problem.

Not good that yahoo refers all users/customers with AT&T Yahoo email to AT&T/U-verse technical support which doesn't offer any support for email clients. Going through the same lack of support while being bombarded w/spam including by companies with a yahoo.com domain.
You could contact AT&T Customer Care and see if they can offer any assistance or suggestions to solve your issues. Not sure if they deal with att yahoo email problems but may be worth a try.
