When do the Fiber Optic cables get installed in my apartment complex for my Uverse Service?

I have heard rumors for years that fiber optic cables are "close by" but not yet close enough to connect directly into the wire system in my apartment complex.  I would love to upgrade to 45mbps but unfortunately the optics is holding up that upgrade.

other local internet providers already offer higher speeds.

Does anyone have similar experiences with this delay in installation?
