Whining about sports? Oh please. I don't think that you should make a habit of belittling others concerns about the service. I can get weather from a zillion sources on the web, but I can't watch my favorite college team play football there.
Your local NWS office has a much more comprehensive weather forecast for your area and most likely a better radar image and storm coverage. The only thing that I've found TWC good for was remembering that whenever Jim Cantore showed up in Cleveland we had a winter storm or some serious lake effect snow on the way.
As far as the local on the 8's, I recall that TWC puts a computer in the local cable providers distribution center to handle this function. If there's no local office for U-verse, then this would be tough to do.

I don't follow sports, but last weekend, I believe, people were really outraged that some game that was supposed to be on wasn't in the areas it should have been. Local team? Some people were even having parties with a housefull of guests only to find the game they hoped to watch on the NEW Uverse did not appear. I can sympathize, and I'd be mad, too!
My point is only, when people make a fuss about sports and threaten to cancel, AT&T seems to start bending over backwards to accommodate them.
My channel request here was guaranteed to be included in their lineup when I signed up (yeah, I know now, we all are familiar with Sales...); so I'm merely requesting they make good on their promise.
Did they actually have all the sports channels they have "now" in their lineup 3 months ago? It seems to me they did not and it has only been recently with the BigTen and others?
I'm just having a difficult time understanding why it is so difficult to add the channels people want or were promised (or had previously with their prior provider). AT&T, are you listening? May we have an answer, please?

That is what tech support has mentioned before about the VHO. Don't they have Local 8's on ATT's Homezone?
I'm trying to understand that, as some people have stated there are channels on Homezone (sports included) that aren't on Uverse? How different is the techology as it's all satellite when you get down to it as far as programming, right?

It appears another "source" has stated that we are NEVER going to have Local 8s? We are expected to make do with UBar weather, whenever/if ever it comes out.

I'm skeptical that AT&T's official policy is that they will never provide Local on the 8s. I can believe that someone might have told you that, but we know about the reliability of the information provided by some of AT&T's underlings.
