Negative, never expires now. ![]()
What do you think of the screenshots? If I do indeed have a bridge tap, what is the process to resolve the issue?

At the very least though, you should be able to get the 32/5 profile. Call technical support, ask for tier 2, and ask them to raise you to the 32/5 line profile. They probably can't do it while you're on the phone with them, but will want to send a technician out to evaluate your line instead.
If they do that, once the technician gets there, have him look for a bridge tap at the same time.

Just tried to install for the first time. The RRDTools package fails to install when trying to install the Visual Studio 2010 component. The error message indicates the reason is that there is a newer version already installed, which you would think would be OK, but the only way to get past the error is to cancel, which then cancels the RRDTools installation.
Any suggestions?

I'm new to this forum, and have not used a forum like this for a while, so please let me know if this should be posted elsewhere.
I had a much older version of UVRT installed, 1.6.x I think. Anyway, the update to 1.7 download failed for some reason and then I found 1.9.x was out, so I unstalled 1.6, and attempted to install the 1.9.* exe. It failed to install the UVRT.msi after the reboot. I'm familiar with this kind of install, in that some of these kind of tools need update to various re-distributed DLLs, etc. I'm going to try to include the screen capture and the log referenced by the screen capture here. Not sure how to resolve this yet, but would appreciate some help. Maybe this may help resolve any installation issues with the exe installer -- Dan? Anyway, I may revert to install via the .zip file next.
Regards,
JD
System: WinXP x86/SP3... and yes, it works and looks better than Win8!

Tried to run the setup.exe manually, it produceds this window. It appears that the UVRT.msi may be missing from the exe package/bundle.
hope this helps.

This problem that you're seeing is because the user settings file for v1.6 is incompatible with the user settings file for v1.8 and higher. Normally, when you upgrade, the installer upgrades the user settings file for you, but since you had difficulty with the upgrade, that didn't happen.
1. Download the UV Realtime documentation from here:
http://www.uvrealtime.com/dl/UVRT-Main-Doc.pdf
2. Follow the manual removal procedure on page 4.
3. Reinstall UV Realtime using the v1.9.1 downloaded package (don't manually unzip it, just run it).
A few notes on following the manual removal procedure:
a. The paths to the program preferences folder may not have the "_Dan_Wilson" in the pathname. Look for the "_UVRealtime_xxxxx" folder directly in the Local Settings folder.
b. The GUID to remove the Add/Remove programs entry is different for v1.6. You may have to scroll through all the Add/Remove Program entries in HKEY_Local_Machine\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curr
c. Since you're running XP, there's a 99% chance you're running x86 (32bit), but on the very rare chance that you're running XP64, the registry path will be HKEY_Local_Machine\Software\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\

I've removed UVRT each time I get a crash, then it starts up fine until I reboot.

Having issues with install. During RRDtool install I get an error that there is already a newer version of Visual C++ 2010 on my computer. I am running Windows 7 64bit.

The Broadband tab on my router page says my max user rate is 44175 kbps.Wouldn't that qualify me for tier 2? I contacted tier 2 tech and they told me that it isn't available in my area and no matter what my max is i can't be bumped up to tier 2. Is that correct or was he mistaken?
EDIT : I guess I can't get u-verse HDTV service either.

Can anybody please explain to me why when I try and order 24Mbps for my resedntial address they tell me it's not available but, when I order it to the exact same address under the buisness 24Mbps they say that it is available. If it's available for one then it should be available for the other. It's not like they're going to come out and run all new lines & upgrade the wiring/cables. Or dig a trench to pipe in new fibre. I don't understand why I'm getting this run around with AT&T. Please help me.

Send a PM to AT&T Customer Care, this could be account specific. Customer Care is an escalation team who can get this resolved for you.

UV Realtime is designed to connect to your 2Wire router by using the default gateway on the computer its running on.
If you've set up a router-behind-router situation, or if you have a VPN connection up, or some other customized network configuration, then the automatic detection in UV Realtime won't work.
In this instance, uncheck the "Automatic" checkbox at the top and manually type in the IP address of the 2Wire router.

Yeah I already did that and it still says the same thing. I'm not on a VPN & the only router I have is the 2wire. I'm running UV Realtime in Win 7 compatibility mode as an Admin.

I take it you're trying to run UV Realtime on Windows 8.
Please see the following post for instructions to properly install UV Realtime on Windows 8:

I've already done that. The program installed fine. I installed the compenents seperatrly WinPcap 4.1.2, vcredist_86, & UVRT v.1.9.1.0. I did that before I posted the pic of my problem. I'm logged on as the only user on my machine which is an admin account.
RDtool installed during the installation of UVRT And I installed everything in WIN7 Comp. And as an ADMIN.
EDIT : Restarted my computer for the 2nd time and now it works. Don't know what happened before.

On a side note : My MAX seems rather low considering that the node where the fiber optic line is ran into is in my backyard. less then 10 feet from my house.

It looks like there may be a bridge tap on your line. A bridge tap is an extra length of wire attached to your pair that doesn't terminate anywhere. It is usually left over from a previous customer that used your pair. Bridge taps cause problems with xDSL services.
You should call technical support, have them send a premises tech to your house to check the line. He should open a helper ticket with the Installation and Maintenance group (I&M), which are the linesmen, to come find and remove the bridge tap.
Once the bridge tap is removed, your Max Rate will increase, and then they can change you to the 32/5 profile. After that, the system should allow the 24/3 Internet package.

Hi. I'm a newbee here. I've searched this thread but could not find an answer. I have a Motorola NVG510 gateway, which is not compatible with UV Realtime. I was wondering if there is something similar that will work with this AT&T U-Verse gateway?
Thanks for your help. And I apologize if this has been answered previously.

I am not aware of any equivalent tool for the NVG510. However, you can gain some of the same information by logging into the web interface of the NVG510 and looking at the diagnostics pages.
