stav56,
You will need to go into the VMware Fusion configuration and make sure that the network connection to the VM is allowed to use promiscuous mode.
Also, please be sure that you have hooked up the network cables exactly like the Stream Analyzer section of the documentation specifies.
All I can say is wow! How you knew he was using VMware from his post is nothing short of amazing!

Hi SomeJoe;
I was the one asking awhile back about updating the UVRT app to have an 3SD/4HD option in the Configuration Tab > Profile block. Well it seems when I checked it again today I now have the 1SD/3HD WAN and Ingress profile settings, but I am certain when the system was installed the higher profile was in place...maybe that an initial setup before they really configure the system in-place from the CO...so I thought I would update you on that so as far as my setup is concerned that part of the update is no longer required.
Thx - Bill

Thanks for the update.
There was a post on another forum saying that 7 streams was ending early this month. The story is that it was all a mistake.

Not sure if this is the right place but I am wondering if I'm able to get the 32/5 profile. Here are some screenshots that I see people posting but I'm not sure if it's the ones I need to provide.

Currently have 18/1.5 internet and U300 with a DVR and STB and no problems. Would be nice to have the extra HD stream for a new tv we just got for the boys room. Not sure if this is a needed detail but I can order the 24/3 internet plan.

However, a prerequisite is that WinPCap must be compatible. If they have not yet issued a compatible version of WinPCap for Windows 8, then no, at this time the entire package will not work.

Is there a newer versino thatn 1.9.1? Getting that error where the VC++2010 redist are already installed but the RRDTool installer isn't detecting it and considers the install a failure.

Nevermind me -- I extracted the RRDTool install and ran that separately. I don't know where to download the binaries from, else I'd have tried that earlier. ![]()

Get an error message while installing UVRealtime and RRDTool will not install due to "Later Version of Visual Studio found on this computer. Please fix this problem to install.". UVRealtime does run but starts with an error message that real time statistics are not available and to re-install UVRealtime.
What gives? Why will RRDTool not run with a later version of Visual Studio?
My system is a Win7 Pro x64 Dell Precision M6500.

This issue is because of the way that Microsoft has authored the Visual C++ 10.0 runtimes. Later versions will cause the installer for earlier versions to abort.
What you can do is go into your Programs and Features control panel, and remove the Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 x86 Runtime v10.0.xxxxx. (Usually the version you will have is 40219). Once you remove it, then reinstall UV Realtime. RRDTool will install properly after that and will install the 10.0.30319 version, which is compatible.
(You do not need to remove any of the 2005/2008 versions, nor any x64 versions).

i have a 1sd/3hd profile and i guess a 25/2.. now skimming over some posts here i see 35/5 and 3sd/4hd.. i know what the 3sd/4hd is and hear it was removed, but what is the advantage of 35/5, is it a free change, and do i qualify for it?

The 32/5 profile allows 32 Mbps of data traffic to your RG from your VRAD and 5 Mbps of traffic from your RG to your VRAD. This can be used for higher HSI services (24/3 Mbps) and 0SD/4HD IPTV profiles.
However, AT&T now wants to send a truck out to verify that your line can handle the higher profile before they will upgrade you. If you do that incombination with a service upgrade, that truck roll can probably be free, otherwise it may not be. There is no monthly charge associated with the higher profile, per se.

Got it thanks. One note - I did have to completely un-install everything before the re-install picked up installing the RRDTool.
One other issue - I cannot get the stream analyzer working. I have built both a straight through cable as well as a crossover cable and my laptop is not seeing any streams when plugging either cable into my laptop and selecting the only Network Inface that the the program will let me select. Any ideas??
Thanks again.

If you are using a 100Base-TX Ethernet connection, you will probably need a crossover cable to use the connection diagram on page 33 (the one with the coax-connected STB). If your laptop has a Gigabit Ethernet connection, a normal Ethernet cable should work.
Verify first that the Ethernet cable is correctly wired and plugged in -- the Channels/Streams gathering feature must be turned on and working before the Stream Analyzer will work, so make sure that the Ethernet cable has a link light, and that you are seeing the tuned channel in the Channels/Streams tab.

Two questions!
One: I got a trial of the usage graph, liked it, bought a lifetime code this morning. UVRT accepted the code but still says it's due to expire. What to do?
Two: Is this normal for a 12GB download plan? Just got Uverse last week.

Hi Glacialis,
1. Quit UV Realtime and restart it and see if the activation then shows as "Never Expires".
2. On your bitloading graph, there may be a bridge tap there. Post screenshots of the IP/Profile and Error Table tabs so that we can see those numbers.

I just installed Windows 8 (what was I thinking, I'll be pulling my hair out for weeks). Anyway UVRT cannot connect to the Gateway. I uninstalled PCAP and UVRT, installed PCAP in Win7 compatibility mode and resinstalle UVRT. Get same erro, any ideas? I can connect via Explorer.

Can you connect to the RG using a web browser? i.e.
http://192.168.1.254
If that works, try to uncheck the "Automatic" checkbox in UV Realtime and put the IP address of your RG in there (192.168.1.254 is the default, unless you've changed it to a custom value).

I can connect to that IP address via browser with no problems. I tried to un-check Auto and add the IP directly and had the same unable to connect.

Was UV Realtime working properly for you under a previous version of Windows? Also, which U-Verse residential gateway (RG) model do you have?

My RG is the 3801HGV. I finally noticed that the IP field had two :: at the begining. Once I cleared them and manually entered the IP of the RG everything started working. Auto connect still does not work. I'm not sure how that works, so I did not try to figure out why it no longer works. Thanks for the replys.

When the "Automatic" check box is checked, UV Realtime uses the default gateway's IP address on the primary network card as the IP address of the RG, and attempts to connect to that address. UV Realtime acquires this IP address using internal .Net calls.
The source of the 2 colons is likely because Windows 8 is now returning IP address information that may or may not have IPv6 information with it. UV Realtime is probably obtaining the IP address and it has IPv6 elements in it such as the double colon. This results in UV Realtime not being able to connect to the RG.
Manually putting the IP address in bypasses this issue.
I will note on the website that unchecking the Automatic check box and putting in the IP address of the RG manually will be necessary for Windows 8 compatibility until I can issue a new version of UV Realtime that will remove any extraneous IPv6 elements from the internally-acquired IP address.

1) UVRT activation issue: Restarting did not resolve. I did so after applying the code the first time.
2) Bitloading graph: Would love to, but now UVRT crashes on startup. Not sure why, but it asked for my email address for a crash report. Should have two of them your way with the email being ars+MyForumID@yahoo.com.

1. Remove UV Realtime using the Programs and Features control panel.
2. Follow the manual removal instructions in the documentation (page 4 of the Main Documentation PDF).
3. Reinstall UV Realtime from the v1.9.1 package.
After that, please send me a private message and we will get the activation issue sorted out.
