Hello,
I am trying to host IIS SMTP server behind the Uverse Router and run into a problem sending outbound email.
Things I tried:
- Configured my machine as SMTP Server in the router's Firewall Settings
- Disabled Windows Firewall
- Called Uverse support and had them open port 25
The outputbound email is not sent.
I use TELNET to test connection. When I issue this telnet command, I get a connection failed message:
o 74.125.113.26 25
(this IP address is GMAIL mx server)
The same command works fine from my office.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Edit: Missed where they said AT&T had removed the block.
It sounds like the outbound block on port 25 is not actually removed. I think I'd call back.

I called Uverse, and they closed/opened port 25 again and then reset some kind of policies that forced that change to go in effect right away. After the policies were reset, my server started to work.
Thanks.
