This is complete crap!!! I wake up this morning and the channels are gone!! 95% of my dvr recordings are food network shows!! Then I call customer support and they said they began sending out mailers letting the customers know in September!!! I know I sure didn't receive any mailers about food network, did anybody else?..I got them about hallmark channel but definitely not food or cooking channels.... I will be dropping them if those channels do not come back....why doesn't Uverse just take everything away that we watch and continue to rip us off on the monthly price....$200 a month for what? A complete runaround anytime you have a problem....Thanks a lot Uverse and Scripps....way to upset you customers/viewers and not even care.....

Ouch...just heard on the radio that an agreement in price had been made several weeks ago. What happened is that AT&T wanted to be able to use the content on the internet, etc. If that's true there's gonna be big trouble. Of course, this information came from a representative of Scripps so take that for what its worth; hopefully more information from a neutral source will emerge.

AT&T, 2.7 million customers may be forced to change cable network providers this morning due to continuing loss of some of our favorite network channels. Our family is VERY unhappy about losing some channels that we watch on a daily basis.

Yeah well, The Food Network is a big deal. OPW? One Post Whiners?
One Post Wonders, but Whiners works just as well. Hey my family watches Food, HGTV and DIY quite a bit too. Am I happy about not having these channels, no, but I expect them to be on again and I'm not dropping UVerse because they aren't on right now.

Gets it.

Ok, so I am a fan of U-verse. I can put up with the problems with them. On the whole, I have had little criticism of them despite some of the issues with hd quality, losing Hallmark, etc.
HOWEVER, I AM NOT HAPPY ABOUT LOSING FOOD NETWORK AND HGTV!!!!! I will wait it out a short (very short) time and will have to consider other options if the channels do not reappear.
Please no bashing, just airing some frustration!

ITA, rosecafe.
I too have been a *big* fan of U-Verse and have essentially "sold" the service to several neighbors and out of town friends. I had no idea that this was a possibility.
If Scripps and AT&T cannot come to an agreement soon, they're going to lose another subscriber.
Granted, I'm not necessarily bashing AT&T over this as it might be Scripps being unfair, but in this current climate I trust very few large corporations.
Not. Happy.

Not Happy at all! While I was watching HGTV the show was abruptly cut approximately 2/3 through the program - suddenly, it was TLC. Uverse, Ustink.

This is absolutely ridiculous!!! Why should we, the customer have to suffer for the greed of large corporations! Screw you At&t for not standing up for your loyal clients! Resolve this soon and return amazing networks like HDTV and Food Network channels back on our program! With Thanksgiving around the corner and the spirit of the holiday season upon us, the special programs shown on Food Network will all be unavailable for the viewing audiences. I refuse to go through the holidays without Food Network in my house and my kitchen! I will wait a week maybe two for a solution to air the channels, if not, my contract with you which includes cable TV, internet, cell phones, and home phone will be ended. I understand that I am only one household, but if enough of us bind together we will do more damage than the disagreement between you and Scripps. Consider our loyalty and the possibility of us never returning. Without our contracts you don't have a business whatsoever. Whatever happened to customer satisfaction? I am severely dissatisfied!
Disgruntled client.

The majority of the time my TV is on Food Network. I will not wait weeks for this to be resolve. This is ridiculous! Until now I have had no problems with Uverse but this is a deal breaker. I will start checking the other options available in my area first thing tomorrow.

I understand the shadiness of HGTV and Food Network. And, I totally think what AT&T is doing is right. Now, I don't want to sound like a hypocrite. To top it off, I am an AT&T Employee, and I sell Uverse among other things. But, if AT&T doesn't barter some sort of deal and get Food Network back online, I will be forced to leave.
I need to have Food Network for Thanksgiving week. So, I will be ordering another network tomorrow during lunch. If Food Network is restored before another provider is active, (Haven't decided which) at my house, I will cancel that appointment.

I am extremely angry at the removal of channels from the Uverse schedule, primarily 453 Food-W and 456 Cook. No guides show these changes, so you just get some channel you don't know about. I have had service for over 30 years and Uverse for 7 (as soon as it became available in my locale), and can't believe that AT&Tdidn't handle negotiations for retaining these very popular channels before a deadline removal time. Like many others who are also upset about this, I will start looking for other ways to have the services I want as I certainly pay through the nose to have them with AT&T. All we see is increasing rates, redone web sites that you can't use or even get into and services decreasing in the areas most wanted by consumers. Heaven knows what happened to service for the paying customer.

Not happy about loss of channels-HGTV, DIY, Food Network, Cooking, etc. Also, Hallmark Channels. We pay for these channels and if I can't get them I am seriously considering changing back to cable TV. I watch these channels more than any and I want them back. And soon.
Very unhappy customer!

Add me to the rapidly growing list of dissatisfied customers! The loss of HGTV and the other channels is unacceptable. Today is November 5. I am giving ATT one week to restore these channels. If this does not happen, I will be switching to another provider. The fact that these most popular channels have been removed is ridiculous - this is obviously a matter of corporate greed, and needs to be recognized as such. As far as ATT claiming that the problem is entirely due to Scripps: ATT makes quite enough money to be able to "eat" the profit loss that might occur, in order to satisfy their company's obligation to their customers. As others have noted - will there be a price reduction that reflects the loss of services promised? Unlikely! Corporate greed. Therefore, I repeat, after one week, I will no longer be a customer of ATT for any of their services. When enough of us leave, then companies will have to take notice and reform their practices. : (

I would not hesitate to go back to Directv if HGTV, DIY & Food Net aren't brought back. Losing Hallmark was bad enough, but now this. Come on ATT-Uverse make a deal. What worries me is, what's next?
Please, please bring these channels back!

The loss of channels is very disappointing. I pay a small fortune to watch television on basic cable. HGTV and The Food Network were my favorite channels. I did not receive The Cooking Channel or DIY but these should be included in the restoration of these other channels - along with Hallmark Channel. AT&T should pay its customers for this inconvenience by restoring and adding additional channels.

So why are you on the UVerse forum? $30 is how much the U-Family bundle is, which carries HGTV and Food Network, so you can't say you pay a small fortune. AT&T has added many more channels this year than it has lost and the rates didn't go up.
