As a die hard College Football Fan its hard to express how The PAC 12 NETWORK is the best thing to ever happen to CFB out here.
Until now we had to rely on back east media who didnt even know enough about out here to pronounce our state names correctly!
And before thats dismissed as some winey comment lets try and put it in perspective for folks back east: imagine if we couldnt pronounce MARYLAND, ARKANSAS (yes im lookin at you Lester Miles) or CONNECTICUT correclty how old that would get and quick.

I don't want to hear any crap about "back east media" giving favor to the east coast when they all seem to think that Southern Cal should own USC when there's an older school on the east coast that also uses those initials.
You're just upset because the SEC is better in football than the PAC-12.
And remind me, since you're a Comcast subscriber now, why is it that you're still posting here?

Time Warner and Cox Cable are two of the founding partners of the PAC 12 Network. The other founding partners are Comcast and Bright House. The founding partners have no option but to carry the PAC 12 Network in PAC 12 markets. All other TV providers have to negotiate a carriage agreement and pay a carriage fee in order to carry that network.

Yes, but you are not posting about the service that you have. You continue to comment about services that you don't have, and which have no effect on you. It's one thing to visit the forum of a service that you don't have to read the posts in order to keep abreast of what's happening. It's a completely different thing to continue to post one's opinion about things that don''t effect you. It borders on obsession.

While that may be your opinion, that is so far from reality it's not even funny. Out of the 12 schools in the Big 12, only a couple are schools that have sports programs that are worth watching, and those games aren't carried on the Pac-12 Network.

Once again, may I point out that one of the potential problems with the Pac-12 Network is, unlike the Longhorn Network, it is not "one" channel but seven of them, and on top of that, AT&T has to find a way to restrict six of them to particular parts of the country (for example, the Pac-12 Oregon channel would not be available outside of Oregon).
I am not sure how easy it would be for AT&T to include six non-broadcast channels on just some of its customers' lineups; if it was that easy, I would expect that they would do the same thing with the RSNs, rather than listen to everybody complain when an NBA/NHL/MLB game on any of them outside of the viewers' local area is blacked out.
(Prediction: when women's "sand volleyball" (they won't call it beach volleyball because "where's the nearest beach to the University of Nebraska?") becomes a scholarship sport, expect there to be a lot of initial interest for the network to show it - followed by a lot of complaints when they discover that the NCAA uniform rules say "no two-piece outfits unless the top is a shirt long enuogh to overlap the bottom half".)

AFAIK, im the only person posting here who is a subscriber to the pac 12 network, so i figured i may have something to offer should any other members of the community be curious.
it'd be great if there was an ignore feature then anyone who wanted to could ignore me, i darn sure know theres other posters id like to use it on.

but out here our local media has almost NOTHING about college sports its almost all that PRO JUNK. the one shoe we do get on saturday on ch 7 is NFL guys and all they do is talk about the student athletes as NFL draft picks, just clueless

There are six regional networks as follows:
PAC 12 - Los Angeles
PAC 12 - Bay Area
PAC 12 - Washington
PAC 12 - Oregon
PAC 12 - Mountain (Utah & Colorado)
PAC 12- Arizona
U-verse is only available in Calfifornia based on the PAC-12 footprint, therefore they shouldn't sign up to carry all six regionals, just the two California ones plus the national network. U-verse should place the two California Regionals along with the National network on U-200 package for California subscribers only. Then place the National Network on U-450. I don't think there is a need to carry the other regionals when U-verse doesn't have a presence in those states.

That's funny since the RSN's all seem to have college sports almost every day of the week. I've seen almost every Fox Sports net have college related programs for their respective areas for years. I know Fox Sports Southwest shows Big-12 related programming and mulitple football games on Saturdays. ESPN on Saturday is nothing but college sports, CBS and ABC have college sports on Saturday. ESPN also carries college football on the off days that other schools play on. If your local media doesn't cover college sports maybe you and others should complain to them.

Okay, so I'm a big time UCLA fan and so far thanks to att's lack of foresight on this pac 12 network I've missed UCLA's season opener again Rice, I saw the 2nd game against Nebraska (it was on Fox) and now I can't watch game 3 tonite against Houston; so yeah I can't see me continuing to spend upwards of $250.00 dollars a month while not being able to watch my favorite team... Also the Lakers are right around the corner and with the new Laker Network coming in October I'm sure we won't get that either.
Although I've been a customer for the last 3 years and I really hate the fact that I'll have a cable guy coming over to the house since I don't like the hassle..... I just can't take this anymore. So this morning I ordered Time Warner and I'll be getting the same package with unlimited long distance, faster internet AND the pac 12 network along with the laker network for a whopping $88 dollars a month. Oh and I'll no longer be missing my games moving forward. So long, I guess and good luck. Although you've already lost me a customer; my advice to you is to get on board with the laker network or you'll be losing a lot more customers moving forward.....

I hope you are not a fan of the NFL, because Time Warner does not carry the NFL Network. Thus, you will be missing all of the Thursday night NFL games that will be broadcast on that network.

I like the Raiders (admittingly they're sorta garbage and I'm not sure if they'll be on thursday or not) but I will gladly tradeoff the likely hood for whether or not the Raiders will play on Thursday night and possibly miss one of their games versus missing over half the lakers season and 66% of UCLA's football AND Basketball season any day.. And I get to save over $170.00 dollars a month for a better service. This is one of those rare win win situations that don't come up often.

Just throwing my hat in on AT&T and the lack of the Pac-12 Network. I chose AT&T for access to Fox Sports West and Prime Ticket in San Diego County. AT&T was the only option I had to see UCLA sports. Now, I can go back to Cox with their whole home DVR, MLB package, etc. You are not the only game in town anymore.

I think his point was that the poster stated that he missed the UCLA vs. Rice game because it was on the PAC 12 Network which was not true.

No carriage agreements have been announced for any TV provider, including Dish Network, to carry the new Time Warner Sport Channel which will carry the Lakers games. At this point, that sports channel will only be available on Time Warner.

the school with the biggest following in the southern half of the golden state, is playing the school with the biggest following in the northern half of our state: Cal vs SC @ 1:00 this saturday afternoon on the pac 12 network, hopefully uverse customers will be able to see, but as of right now youre left out.
and before all the normal deflection and distraction commences, let it be said the day the formation of the pac 12 network was announced i didnt have any sort of cable or sat subscription. it could have been anybody who was going to carry it i would have considered them b/c there was no way i was gonna be left out.
and while im not privy to any kind of inside info, i dont see why there would have been anything preventing uverse to negotiate to carry the pac 12 nets in california from day one. i would have seriously considered coming back to uverse had they joined inon the party. i like the tech, i like the idea of watching uverse upstairs no my xbox 360. however they never gave me that choice
now the "hey look over there" arguments may resume.

I am a new poster on the AT&T Community Forum, but I am very anxious that UVERSE has not completed its negotiations with the PAC12 Network.... I don't understand the comments on how or why it is hard for UVERSE to restrict certain regions to the PAC12 Network by region as it has been doing that with FoxSports for several years.
In my area, Northern California Bay Area, I was one of the first UVERSE subscribers in the East Bay city I live in when it was first available. I became an evangelist for this strong alternative to Comcast and got many friends to sign-up. I am going to mount a campaign to all my Pac12 friends and the alumni of my alma mater (Cal) to switch from UVERSE to Comcast if UVERSE does not get with the program pretty quickly..... I'm already scrambling to find where I'll watch the USC/Cal game tomorrow as most sports bars have satellite I believe..... UVERSE prided itself and pitched its very broad content coverage when getting new subscribers, it did cover much of the Pac10/12 universe through its FoxSports and ComcastSportsNet coverage...... The College Basketball season is almost here and most of those (PAC12) games will now only be covered on the PAC12 Network. I will switch back to Comcast and get at least 100 other subscribers to switch too if they don't get this thing figured out..... and since UVERSE now is requiring multi-year contracts too to get the best rates and because Comcast also requires the contracts, I will fight vigorously the early termination fees and UVERSE will lose at least 100 subscribers based on my efforts alone (for multiple years).

I feel y'alls pain. I figure that in the next two years, the SEC will be making its own ESPN-run channel and I'll be hoping that AT&T will carry it. It may be a hard sell with the Missus to switch cable companies just for college football and baseball, though.
Since AT&T has a very large presence across the SEC territory, and the value of SEC football is widely renouned, maybe it won't take as long to come to an agreement.
Or maybe they won't start the SEC channel at the beginning of Football season... oh, wait, that's ESPN's biggest bargaining stick. Why would they give up the chance to have millions of rabid Alabama fans storm AT&T's offices demanding carriage. Just like they're doing with the PAC-12.

Yes, they're making a huge mistake here, I'm still a uverse customer yet that's only because I'm awaiting Time Warner's installation (they had to do some free of charge construction today to make sure they can hook things up properly). I'm sure ATT will learn their lesson eventually but just like the guy from the bay area said; I'm taking a lot of my friends with me. As I'm spreading the word about the PAC12 Network along with the LAKERS there's going to be a lot of lost money in SOCAl especially considering we've got Nash AND Howard...... I'm not trying to even miss a preseason game more less 50 regular season games.
