Why is ATT not banging down the door of the Pac 12 to get us the Pac 12 network?!!!! Can't they see that their service and equipment is horrendous? The least they should do is try, for once in their existence, to get the Pac 12 network so they can advertise or do whatever with it, but to primarily give the consumers something they want. (Hey that's a new idea, now isn't it AT&T!) JEEEEEZ. VOTE FOR THE PAC 12 NETWORK BY SUBMITTING REQUESTS!

I think you have that backwards. The Pac 12 needs AT&T, they should be doing the door knocking.

PAC-12, yawn. Sorry, but not all of us are as interested as some of these posters appear to be.

Because outside of the west coast, most users don't care about the Pac 12. If the Pac 12 network demands too much money or other rediculous perks to broadcast it then AT&T won't bother carrying it. For a fledgling network, they should be begging providers to carry their programming.

One problem might be, the Pac-12 Network isn't one channel, but seven - one "national" one and six that are meant only for specific areas (Washington; Oregon; Northern California; Southern California; Arizona; Utah/Colorado). I am under the impression that only the people in a particular area should be able to get a particular regional channel - e.g. people in Oregon should not be able to see the Arizona channel, but just the national and Oregon ones.
There is already enough of a problem with people complaining that they can't watch "out-of-market" NBA (for example) games; maybe AT&T is worried that there would be additional complaints that five or six (depending on where you live) new sports channels would never be available to a particular viewer. The problem could also be that AT&T might want just the national channel, but the Pac-12 might be insisting that it include the regional ones as well in the appropriate markets.

I totally forgot about that, you are correct that it will be mulitple "channels". Not sure if blackouts actually apply in college sports or not, but that could be an issue.

there wont be any blackouts along the lines of what pro sports fans have to endure, but there maybe availability issues if youre a fan of team that is not in your area.
the same model is being used by all the cable cos for the most part
the regional network is available on the lowest digital tier if you live in that market, n ca, s ca etc...., and the national channel is available on sports tiers
where there will be probs for a minority of fans, is, say, youre a fan of the university of washington who lives in la, and and la team is playing on the p12n at the exact same time as UW is. then UW_FAN may have to watch the game on the national network, read SD in a lot of cases, or, may have to wait for the game to be replayed on the local pac 12 net
that and if your outside of the pac 12 footprint completely, well then youre lucky to have anything at all

don
that is not the way it is from what i read, not at all. and looking at my comcast guide im seeing utah, oregon, oregon st etc.... non conference cupcake games listed in my p12n bay area schedule, and there is none of the dreaded "blackout rules may apply" like in pro sports listings.
and the beauty of the pac 12 networks as far as att is concerned is that they wouldnt be making everybody pay for something theyre not interested, theyre mostly a collection of regional networks ala comcast sportsnet and FSN

Yes, you are - but you are NOT getting the separate Washington, Oregon, Southern California, Arizona, or Colorado/Utah channels - just the "national" and Bay Area channels. You will see a lot of "minor" sports featuring Cal and Stanford, but most of the games that don't involve either school will probably be football or basketball. I don't think many of the other regional Pac-12 networks will be showing the Cal-Northwestern field hockey game that Pac-12 Bay Area is airing this Friday.

Article from the Mercury News that says that:
"The [Pac-12] conference is also in discussions with Dish Network and AT&T U-verse and could make carriage deals before the first kickoff."
http://www.mercurynews.com/cal-bears/ci_21428378/s
I'm not counting on seeing Pac-12 football this weekend but at least it "sounds" like there is a microscopic chance a deal might get done.

How could you let a lousy outfit like Times Warner make a deal before you? PAC 12 Network is here. Get it done.

Time Warner is one of the partners in the creation of the network:

Let's get this deal signed and on the air... football starts tonight and I am missing Pac-10 (12) games!

Apparently, you need the U450 tier to get it if you're not in Texas. (I know that I have U200, and it's blocked.)
Also, for whatever reason, every channel covering the Virginia-Richmond football game has it "blacked out in your area."
(I have a feeling "whatever reason" is, the game is on ESPN GamePlan...)

I agree, Last yeat AT&T promoted Fox Sports West and their Sports Package as a way to get PAC 12 games. Now that PAC12 has their own network, when will you update your customers on the status of getting the PAC12 network. Are negotiiations continuing?

I agree. Uverse used to allows PAC10/12 fans to follow games with the Sports Package but now they don't strike a deal for Pac12 Network? bogus.

I called Time Warner today to make the switch. But after reading the article mentioning that Uverse is still in negotitations, I may allow Uverse some more time to strike a deal.

If PAC12 is regional and UVERSE does not meet the regional demands of its customers, the customers will move to a cable provider who meets the regional demands of its customers.

None of us have any inside information regarding negotiations between the Pac-12 Network and AT&T. Just as you are, we are subscribers to the U-Verse service.
If Wikipedia can be trusted as reliable, it's latest entry says this:
"The announcement of the Pac-12 Networks included agreements with Comcast, Time Warner Cable, Cox Communications, and Bright House Networks. This agreement does not guarantee that the Pac-12 Networks would be available to every home in Pac-12 territory and a minimum of 40 million homes nationally at launch date.[6] The agreements compliment a 12-year deal the Pac-12 Conference has entered into with Fox Sports and ESPN beginning in 2012. In addition, the network has been in extended negotiations with satellite carriers. Larry Scott stated in an interview (8 May 2012) with Seattle sports radio station KJR that he is "quietly optimistic" that a deal will be done in time for Fall 2012. As of August 30, 2012, the Pac-12 Network has yet to sign carriage deals with Dish Network, Charter Communications, AT&T U-Verse and Verizon FiOS. DirecTV has announced they will not carry the channel."

Very good news for pac-12 fans who live outside of our footprint, or if you live out here and dont like your local cable co and/or have uverse:
DISH NETWORK has picked up the PAC 12 Network and began airing games this weekend. along with the games over satellite, theyre supposed to get online with streaming games so your favorite team will always be available online if not thru dish's box.
i watched some of the Okie state vs UofA game last night in the background while duke vs stanford was on the tv, its nice to have on option but wouldnt want to have to rely on it with my old laptops and slow internet and g-wireless network
Please add PAC 12 Network
