AT&T, please tell me that you are going to have ESPN3 (Watch ESPN App) and the Pac-12 Network very soon...like BEFORE football season begins. This will happen, right?
The main reason for joining ATT U-Verse was because they boast that they are on the cutting edge of digital programming and interactive applications. Please tell me that the two aforementioned channels (apps) will be available by the end of the summer, if not sooner. These are now standard features of sports programming. Come on!
If not, I'm going to have to switch back to another provider.

I don't know if this is the place to put this, if it needs to be moved the mods can move it.
FWIW, i have heard the PAC 12 NETWORK will charge .90 cents per/sub per/month for carriage rights to all its sporting events this is pretty close to what the BIG TEN charges, this is for in market subs, and it is not supposed to be on premium sports pkg for in market, out of market will probably require premium sports pkg, not sure of out of market charge.

Can U-Verse put something like Pac-12 Sports Network in a non-premium package in some parts of the country but not others? I thought only over-the-air stations were separatable by region.

Nope, the RSN's are handled by market. Depending on the market, the same RSN will appear in different packages.

The PAC 12 NETWORK hopes to begin broadcasting on or about AUG15 2012.
There will be 7 cable networks 1 national, and 6 regional, which will broadcast approx. 850 live events, not including any events being shown on PAC 12 NETWORK broadcast partners FOX, and ESPN NETWORKS.
All 850 events will also be available on on any mobile device or iPAD.
COMCAST and TIME WARNER are supposed to carry it, not sure of who else will carry it hopefully AT&T will pick it up.

According to one article I read, outside of any of the Pac-12 states, only the national channel will be available - and even in the states, only that area's regional channel (plus the national one) will be available. (Presumably, nobody in Washington state is particularly interested in, say, a Cal vs. UCLA swim meet; anything of real significance would be on the national channel, if not on one of the Fox/Comcast regional sports nets.)
I am still not sure if U-Verse can, or is willing to, limit certain non-broadcast channels to certain areas (although they do manage to show the "east coast feed" of most cable stations to one half of the country and the "west coast feed" to the other, so it must be possible)..

The PAC 12 Network does not launch until August, and WatchESPN is only available to customers of Bright House Networks, Comcast, Time Warner Cable, and Verizon FiOS TV. I would not call either of those "standard features of sports programming."

I see that DirectTV and Frontier are soon to be carriers for the new Pac-12 Network and I was hoping someone here may have some knowledge about AT&T Uverse negotiations? Any chance we will get this by the start of college football?
Thanks

I couldn't possibly care less. In general, I'm beginning to get very tired of these botique sports networks springing up and pulling games away from EPSN and the major broadcast networks/local stations, but the Pac-12? Yawn.

I think allowing ESPN3 via a PC but not allowing the WatchESPN app is a scam on ESPN's part. I have called them a few times to complain about it and their answer is switch providers. When I tell them I none of the providers in my area has it, they say move. I do not know any details but it has to be a money thing between AT&T & ESPN.
The PAC12 network might be interesting, I live in Indiana, I get the extra Big10 games on the ALT channels, if the PAC12 does that, that would make it worth wild. I have no interest in the Longhorn network, that channel just screams greed and destroyed the Big12.
I have the U450 plan, I would like more channels in time for football season but I am not optimisitc that it will happen.

Of course it's a money thing. Everything is about the Benjamins. Every provider which has added the WatchESPN app have added it when their current carriage agreement with ESPN expired and a new agreement was negotiated. AT&T's carriage agreement with ESPN has not expired.

If ATT adds the PAC-12 Network I wish they will put it in the sports tier where it belongs. I am not going to loose any sleep if att passes on this network.

If Uverse doesn't add the Pac 12 Networks to it's line up, I will leave them for a new vendor. I've been a big fan and early adopter of Uverse when they became available to me here in NorCal around 2005, but they've got to stay competitive in my market area.

If you chose it specifically for the Pac-12 network without any carriage agreements in place then you took a risk. Depending on the cost it may or may not be available. It may go on as a pay network or on a higher tier or the sports package. Currently the majority of the major providers are not carrying the network.

Hello Paul, Larry. How are things going with you and your position as chief Comcast promoter? Is there anything new with Comcast that you can tell us about on this forum?
How about them Cubbies?

there are many comcast systems that have declined to add the pac-12 network, it's been very frustrating, especially when the network was announced that comcast was a partnet
its like the big 10 network fiasco all over again

Just read this little blurb that gives me some limited hope....

I know it comes down to the almighty dollar, but I can't believe that Uverse will carry the Big-10 but not the Pac-12 network

Why not? Currently, most of the providers who carry the Big Ten Network are not carrying the Pac 12 Network.
By the way, the article in your link was written in April.

If you people posting here and anyone else who wants the PAC 12 network please go to channel request section, and request it because as far as i can find out as of today they are still talking and every request helps. I have done this my self several times both thru ATT channel request, and the PAC 12 network channel finder request. Direct TV is supposed to start carrying it in the next couple of days.
