Could you be more specific as to what you mean by "the option to schedule future shows"?  You can already set a recording for a specific date/time in the future, and record all episodes of a particular program that will air in the future.

Give an example of what you want to be able to do.

One example is a show is advertised to premiere next month. To be sure not to miss it I want to set a recording now.

Currently,recordings can only be set for shows in the guide that ends before the new show debuts.

The new feature allows entry of a show from scratch. Returnibg a screen for typical recording setup. When the guide is updated the search function is done in the background.

Think of it as an extension of the search feature. If the show is not yet in the database, it keeps looking (periodically) until it found.

Understood.  The problem is, there's no way for the software to be certain of the title of a show that's not in the guide.

You just have to remember to put up a series recording when the show starts appearing in the guide.

If you know the title, date and time, you can browse to it up to two weeks in advance and set the recording.

To advance your guide you can either uses the FFWD to jump ahead daily or in the guide press the zoom button (bottom right on your remote) to jump to Date and Time.

OUFiD and DonGuy - I think what the OP, aviewer (and I) would like to see, is some sort of Wish List / Reminder.  Often you will see promos for an upcoming show that is beyond the two week window.  If I don't write it down, I'll forget.  SO, why not add a reminder feature to the U-Verse's "toybox?"  Say that the ad says, ""Storage Wars Omaha," premiring April 8th at 8 PM on A&E."  You could set a keyword reminder for the word Omaha or a date / time reminder for 4/8/13 8 PM and you could receive an email or on screen porompt, beforehand.  Why not?

I agreee, the site has many search options for finding existing shows but seems to lack an easy way to add premiers to your DVR. If there is a commercial for a new show running on every channel clearly indicating "coming soon" you should be able to go to a section called I don't know... "Coming Soon" or "Premiers" or "New Shows", click on a title and add them to your DVR schedule. It is frustrating to see a commercial for a new show coming in a few weeks and then have to set a reminder somewhere else so you don't forget to add it to the DVR (unless I am missing that feature somewhere). When I browse I can see "recently added" which is fine but that means I already missed the show. Just a thought.

Guess it's not so easy for you, for me I hear about something new I'm interested in and it literally sets that date in my mind .  Then 10-12 days before that I search for it in the Guide and schedule it.
