You'd be surprised. These things can really get attention sometimes.
Make sure the letter is polite and professional. I'm not saying go soft or back down, but if the letter is full of ranting and raving or profanity, it will get ignored. Also, be sure to proofread it; if it's full of spelling or grammatical errors, people will automatically discount what it says to an extent. (Everyone does this; it's a fact of life.)

Yes. WRITE THE LETTER!
As an avid reader of the Consumerist, I can tell you that EECB (executive email carpet bombs) really do wonders when resolving stuff. Executives take their jobs _seriously_, and generally do anything they can to fix the situation for you. Do not hesitate to write the executives (multiple times if need be) until everything is straightened out for you.

@jimfitzgerald: You'd think, but on top of daily operations of the company, they do seem to handle customer relations, if not handing it off to the proper channels that can get it done and get it done right.

Uverse is not fed from a central office. You obviously have never had ANY observations to base your opinion off of.

My u verse has been horrible. I should have known when the installation took three weeks, numerous phone calls and one big headache.
After six months of shoddy service I’m back to Cox cable.

If you haven't gone back to Cox already, could you tell us what some of your problems are. Maybe we can offer help, suggestions, or resources to get your issues resolved.
