The latest U-Guide (just rec'd.) shows a ESPN Full Court for $99 through Nov. 22--call to order at 1-800-983-2811 or uverse.att.com/uconnect   But that says College basketball, so I guess that is not Pro?

This is going to be a long winter if AT&T doesn't get moving to provide some professional sports.  Coming from Directv with all the sports packages available to having nothing, just isn't acceptable.  I understand the NFL Sunday Ticket because that is a deal between the NFL and Directv, but all the other packages are just a matter of them getting the thing done.

ATT U-verse can't control the nationwide blackouts. The NBA want you to buy NBA League pass, so the networks like YES, Altitude (my nuggets), and the FOX regions will be blacked out regardless. The NBA isn't going to lift that anytime soon. They are making too much money. Like MLB, NHL and all the other "preferred" sports packages.

The main issue of course is the NBA League Pass isn't offered.

But if you are lucky enough to be within the region of your pro b-ball team, (I am in San Diego and in the FoxSports West region) you shouldn't be blacked out. I get all the Laker games, even in HD.

Anyways, it is definitely confusing. I am having a rough time this NBA season too. Having withdrawal because of no NBA League Pass. Heck we don't even have NBATV! That would be a good first step. Add NBATV to the regular sports package.

Ahh.. joys of being the guinea pigs.

The petition isn't to stop the blackouts that are correct by contract, it's to get Uverse to fix the blackouts that they are impleminting that are not correct.

MLB is different. You'll get most Yankees games on YES, like you get the Braves on TBS or the Chicago teams on WGN. MLB allows that kind of thing. But the NBA does not. There are no NBA home-team national broadcasts -- that's what League Pass is for, and it's incredibly lame that AT&T hasn't been able work out deals for it and Center Ice for this season.

It occurs to me that the MSG deal (Knicks and Rangers) might have been holding up the NBA League Pass and NHL Center Ice deals. So now that the MSG deal is complete (we are getting MSG now here in Connecticut), maybe League Pass and Center Ice are not far behind?

Actually that's not correct, the NBA League Pass is for everyone that is not in the Home market. The FSN contract with the NBA specifically states that the games are to be blacked out everywhere EXCEPT in the home market. And yet Uverse is still blacking out the home market...

I understand the NBA blackout policy. I just thought maybe MSG (owners of the Knicks and Rangers, two big-money franchises with a lot of clout) had exerted pressure on the NBA and NHL not to sign deals for League Pass and Center Ice until AT&T had resolved the local New York dispute, for leverage. It would not be at all surprising to learn that MSG had done this.

Yeah, it's not very clear. By "home-team ... broadcast" I meant the kind of thing you get via League Pass if you're (correctly) blacked out on FSN or YES or whatever.

I'm a big sports fan and lately after having U-Verse for tha last 2-1/2 weeks it is getting me very upset. I have the u-00 package for the simple reason that I would be able to see the YES channel and all its sports (Nets, Yankees) and now everytime I change to see a Net game it tells me that it has been blocked out in my area! Dude, I live in San Diego California how da heck is a game in Jersey be blocked out in Cali? Does anyone know the reason for this? will this happen througout the baseball season?

man had I known this I probably would have paid higher fees and not go through this fiasco. Yes, I know be part of the process and innovation and solutions or get out, but this is really hard to swollow there are many sports fans who are getting shafted here.

Actually this is the way it is with all NBA games by contract. If you are not in the home market area, it will be blacked out. This is how the NBA forces people to sign up for NBA League Pass.

Yeah but not even the home games in our market have been available. To be honest all we are asking for is AT&T to start acting like a cable provider and offer people some choices. They launch U-verse and nothing is ready to go, nothing is available as far as UFC fights, NBA league pass, etc. They encourage you to order the sports pack so you can enjoy a ton of blacked out channels with no way of resolving it. And where is the NBA channel?

Oh trust me, I am not making excuses for them. I agree 100% about the sports channel issues, I was just addressing the previous posters immediate issue with why his was truly blacked out. PPV is on it's way back in, I'm hoping that if the Boxing match on Thanksgiving that they are offering goes well system wise, that they will quickly expand the PPV to include UFC and the such.

I hope so. I like u-verse as a system. Much easier and better quality than dish to be honest. Just want a better rounded package. I am one of the few people that will standup and say "I will pay more money to be able to wathc what I want to watch!"

Does anyone know if NBA League Pass is currently available on AT&T U-verse?
I currently have Time warner Cable, but am thinking to switching to U-verse. However, as a lover of basketball (and, living near San Antonio, the Spurs), I don't want to lose my NBA League Pass.

it is not available, either is NBA channel, and you never know when your local game will be blacked out, my advice if you love basketball.... STAY AWAY FROM UVERSE....

if your game is being blacked out incorrectly, pick up the phone and do something about it. It's not impossible to get fixed, several people including myself have done it. Don't just complain and sit on your hands.

I'm almost wondering if you have to have a certain number of subscribers to offer the NBA package.  I'm assuming only a handful of U-Verse users would even buy it
so maybe AT&T doesn't meet their criteria.

Maybe the NBA makes cable providers pay a fee also for having the ability to offer it.  I'm sure there is a reason.

I did inquire about the black outs... it was resolved. I inquired about the NBA league pass, they did not know and told me they didn't know who I should contact. This was through the customer service line. Got any better leads for me to contact and I will be happy to do so. I am not a disgruntled angry "post whore" here. I have inquired and asked about all the problems I have had.

Yes AT&T is charged a license fee to air NBA league pass. But they also get a % from each service sold. I learned this from researching league pass. NBA LP also offers a mid-season discount package. I challenge someone from AT&T to once respond to my inquires and give a solid answer relating to the issue.

I've got a request in to a "higher up" in ATT to see if she can give me any info about the Pro Sports PPV services in general and why college PPV programs are the only ones being carried so far.
