Oh c'mon guys! This is going nowhere and there is no need for anyone to be rude. 
No, we won't get our local on the 8's. Is this a dealbreaker? For some, yes. For others, no.
I highly doubt spd will switch back to cable because of this. I won't and many others won't either.
The whole point is that this was a feature offered to us with our cable companies and now with Uverse, we don't get it and so, we are voicing our opinions on it and what do others tell us? Get a weather radio.
So, spd has a weather radio, posts about what happened and what he finds out, and you guys crawl all over him for it. He never said he *didn't* care about The Woodlands. He simply commented it wasn't his area.
I can't really see having OP lock this thread as anything that will help down the road.
New Uverse users will come here and ask, as has been done more recently. Why not try and keep it all in one place? 
And Ox, yes, there are those of us who do shut down their computers. Depending on where I have to go before my 11AM doctor appt today, mine will be off from about 9AM to at least 3 or 4 this afternoon. We've been through this before.
I said I wasn't going to get into the fray on this this time, but for this one, I had to. Not doing it to *back* up spd, just pointing out some things, that's all.

First off, you were the one who suggested a weather radio.
Okay, so spd has one and posts about what happened. Simply relaying the fact of what happened, that's all and yes, he made a comment about no local feeds. I don't think that was that big of a deal.
Going back to your previous cable provider is simply not the be all, end all, answer to everything, UNLESS, you simply cannot live without local on the 8's weather. Some have mentioned this before. Fine. If they want to change back, let them, but there IS a reason we left our past providers and came to Uverse.
We already know that Uverse will not have the locals, however it would be nice if they would add something similar already, as was mentioned by yoyo a little while ago.
I understand what you are saying but I hope you would understand what we are saying too and show a bit of tolerance.
I could probably drive you totally nuts and start complaining about not having AMC or WE TV or IFC. Had those with cable, why not with Uverse? (don't worry, I'm not about to do that!)
