I have a UVerse account and my Internet speed has slowed down the last couple of days and I don't know why.
I have AT&T Elite (internet package up to 6 Mbps).
I used to get about 5.6 Mbps consistently, just about all the time every day. I noticed it has gone down to 4.9 Mbps and has consistently stayed there.
And it's not my computer because I shut off and disconnected the internet off all my computers and then used the speed test tool that's on my LG TV and the speed there dropped as well.
So what do you guys think is going on with my internet connection? And how can I fix it so I can get back up to 5.6 Mbps again?

Please download and install this maintenance tool developed by a forum member Somejoe7777. Here is the link:
http://www.uverserealtime.com/
After installing the tool, please post screenshots of the following tabs: IP/Profile, Error Table, & Bitloading. After posting the above screenshots, we can review them and see if you are having problems with your system.

Yeah I can't use that tool.
I just read the system requirements and I have a 2Wire 2701HG-B router.
Did I post this in the right forum, by the way?
Because I get a little confused about this. I don't have TV programming with UVerse. I thought I had just regular internet with AT&T but when they announced the data caps I did an online chat with an AT&T representative from this site and he told me I have 250 GB data limit, not 150 GB because I have a UVerse Internet account.

Uverse can use 2701HGV-B which is ADSL2+.
ATT DSL can use 2701HG-B which is ADSL.
If you have active service through a 2701HG-B Residential Gateway, then you have AT&T DSL Service. Here's a link to that forum. I'm slightly confused as to why the rep online said you have a U-verse account. With a U-verse account you don't have a data cap (not active anyway). With DSL you have a 150GB data cap.
DSL account numbers are either your telephone number with a few numbers after or start with a 0
Uverse account numbers start with a 1 and are 9 digits long
The account numbers should be on your bill.
Based on your modem, you have DSL.

eh...??
No data caps on U-verse internet? I thought it was 150 GB for DSL (non-U-verse) and 250 GB for U-verse.
Did they recently revise that?

The bandwidth cap for U-verse internet has never been enforced.

What model number is your modem/gateway?
What other services do you have (POTS/analog telephone, Uverse Voice/VOIP, Uverse TV)?

bauwis, sorry, I messed up. I just looked at the model number on my router again. I do have 2701HGV-B. I missed the "V". And I checked one of my bills. It starts with a 1 and is 9 digits long. So I do have a UVerse account.
BeeBeeSA, I downloaded and installed that tool you mentioned. It asked me to install 2 additional programs. One of them didn't install because I had a "newer" version of something else on my computer. I don't know. I forgot what didn't install.
Anyways here's the screen caps of IP/Profile, Error Table, & Bitloading:
[removed image with unique IP and MAC address]
Are these screenshots okay or did you guys want me to post something else?

Sorry, Joe I messed up.
I have 2701HGV-B router. I missed the "V" so I think I should go back and ask this question on the UVerse forum.
But I'll come back here if I am supposed to post my problem here.

The UVrealtime program only works on the VDSL 2WIRE gateways. That does not include the 2701HGV-B.
Your service is ADSL2/2+
The IP/Profile Tab might give accurate info, but it might not. SomeJoe (author) would have to verify.

Okay. Well anyways, my Internet Speed has fallen to 4.1 Mbps and stayed there. I'm using Speedtest.net to test it.
I was thinking rebooting the router would fix it but it's done the exact opposite and made it worse (as in decreased my speed) every time I've done it. I've gone from 5.7 Mbps to 4.9 to 4.5 to now 4.1.
Do you think my router is going bad?

Apparently you now ARE in the U-verse forum. :-)
You have the ADSL2+ flavor of U-verse so I'm not going to be able to help you much. VDSL2 is my speciality.
