Illinois U-VERSE 1604 ESPN News HD (New?)

I recently got U-Verse back in mid-February 2009 and never had ESPN News HD 1604. However, over the past week I noticed that the channel now exists, and I'm super excited to see that it's offered now.

Any reason why it hasn't been formerly announced?

ATT doesn't like to announce new chanel additions until they are positively sure that everyone has them. They don't update all of their cities at the same time anymore, so they roll out at different times in different cities.

Thanks for the heads up. I was going to post this last week, but wanted to see if they would post an announcement here first. It figures once I posted my message that the announcement is now made.

I did receive a postcard in the mail today stating that GSN west feed will no longer be as of March 20th I believe. Not so sure why it matters since the west coast feed always showed the exact as the normal feed at the same times.

Mark, maybe it has to do with your time zone, don't really know, but for me here, the west feed is the same as the east feed.....only 3 hours later.

So, they are starting with the east/west feed business again?

I guess so, and it could be the time zone because both channels always showed the same thing at the same time in our case.

fwiw my postcard today says # 174 goes however the # 173 stays etc no fault of at&t just the station....etc etc (for u200 and above)

I was thinking that because you are more centrally located than we are, so maybe that is why.

Got the GSN-W postcard also. We love GSN and having the second channel always gave us a chance to watch some different game show on 174 (just 173, 3 hours late). The only time that were // (parallel) to 173 was during the day, with their live daytime show. An oddity was that 174's guide entry was never, ever, correct.

You will be able to watch the eastern feed. Unfortunately the shows you currently watch will air 2 or 3 hours earlier than you normally watch.

When I tune by GSN east/west it always the same program. So dropping one channel of GSN won't make difference for me.

It's not too big for us either but we do like game shows and having an alternative to a lame show (albeit something that just aired 3 hours ago) was nice.

The programming should only be the same on 173/174, Monday-Friday when they have their "live" show, so everyone can enter contests and such. FWIW 174's guide was almost always incorrect.
