According to the coverage map shown below, what you see is correct. In Michigan, the Michigan vs. Illinois game is on ABC and the Miami vs. Florida game is on ESPN.

I assumed that if there were 2 games listed on ESPN, they would be showing the one that had the fans in that region. I was wrong and pretty disappointed when I sat down on Sunday to watch what I had DVR'ed. Lesson learned.

There is no reason to "assume" anything. The coverage map will show what game will be broadcast in your region.

By the way, the game for the fans in that region will be shown on ABC when there are reverse mirror games on ESPN and ABC.
