Complaint: U-verse needs more TV Packages

Hello,

I had my U-verse service installed on August 1st and I have been very impressed with the speed and quality of the service. I am not happy with my TV package. I started my service on the UFamily package since I wanted more than the UBasic channels and I definetely did not need or could afford U200 (I am a student in Atlanta). My little brother came over last weekend to see my new apartment and even he was disappointed as he went through the TV channels. UFamily did not include the Discovery Channel, Comedy Central, ABC Family, TLC, or either Cartoon Network channels. Now while I understand the basic thought in the difference between UFamily and U200. U200 offers more movie channels and every channel the average TV user would need. Yet, UFamily is still lacking in some of the necessities since it is geared towards Family-driven entertainment channels. While looking up channel packages on google, I found out that AT&T used to offer a U100 package and stopped offering this package in May 2012. It appears like U100 is a solid all-around TV package and would be best for a student like myself. My monthly bill differs from $120 with U200 to $87 with UFamily. It is very challenging to pay $30 more per month just so my little brother can watch Cartoon Network. I would love to pay $15 more per month for the Discovery Channel, Comedy Central, ABC Family, TLC, or either Cartoon Network channels. I imagine there are other students in my financial situation, or others that wish they could add/remove certain channels to their current package.

Thanks for your feedback regarding the channel packages. I know I need to have Cartoon Network available!

Invest in a Slingbox, Vulkano or similar device and watch tv from your parents house for the missing channels.

I agree with the above, especially abc family! but funny when I tried to take the survey it shot me to a "unknown request page" maybe our feedback isn't so accepted?

For $87 a month I would have never evne tried the Family pack.  Basic cable is only 77 a month and has so many more channels.  I only tried the family pack because it came as part of a special.  As soon as i can I am dumping At & T.

I assume that you reviewed the channel lineup before you signed up for the package?

You know what they say about assuming TG.  This person has bashed this lineup in several threads now.  May not be what they want, but it's obvious that people choose it.  IMO it's just like the basic packages from other providers, it doesn't have enough of the channels that I watch.
