Hi,
Last night I was suddenly unable to connect to 'steamcommunity.com', after doing some basic things, restarting modem, powercycling, I contacted att live chat support. They were of little help and basically told me to sign up for $180 ConnecTech to fix the issue on AT&T's side. I've verified the website is up on my phones internet, and I can't connect to this website on any computer in our house. If I tether my phones internet to my computer, I can access the website, so it's safe to say the issue is on AT&T's side, not my computer.
I did a traceroute and I'm pretty certain it's a routing issue, but I don't know how to report or what do to get this fixed. Heres the traceroute results.
Tracing route to steamcommunity.com [63.228.223.103] over a maximum of 30 hops: 1 1 ms 1 ms 1 ms 192.168.1.254 2 22 ms 21 ms 20 ms 99-13-44-2.lightspeed.bcvloh.sbcglobal.net [99.1 3.44.2] 3 * * * Request timed out. 4 * * * Request timed out. 5 * * * Request timed out. 6 21 ms 21 ms 23 ms 12.83.69.25 7 28 ms 28 ms 29 ms cgcil03jt.ip.att.net [12.122.84.53] 8 * * 28 ms chp-brdr-03.inet.qwest.net [63.146.26.217] 9 * * * Request timed out. 10 * * * Request timed out. 11 * * * Request timed out. 12 * * * Request timed out. 13 * * * Request timed out. 14 * * * Request timed out. 15 * * * Request timed out. 16 * * * Request timed out.
It goes all the way on until 30 with time outs and then completes.
Any help?
Thanks.

Hopefully someone will answer..I have the same thing here where I cannot connect to certain web sites. I chatted with Uverse support and I think I knew more about DNS settings which I think is the issue. I may pick up a wireless router and just use Open DNS but by the look of some forums this seems to be an issue for others today, not sure if they are Uverse customers though.

Same issue here. Many different websites are suddenly unavailable for me at this location, but when checked from a different internet connection (a non AT&T ISP) things are fine.
Traceroutes show LOTS of lost packets.

I chatted with second level tech support in the afternoon yesterday and the tech said this error is not on their end but it is on the particular web sites I was trying to access, he assumed they were blocking my IP address, or rather the IP address Uverse assigned to me.
One down was Yahoo mail, others posted it was down for some...not for others. One post on another web site said it was a server issue in CA. Mine showed packet loss on all those that would not load.
All those that would not work today are now working fine.

You can manually set your individual computers to use OpenDNS or Google DNS.

The problem was DEFINITELY on AT&T's side. 15 different websites don't just spontaneously decide to not let me connect from my home connection, but work ok from my phone or when using a proxy. Furthermore, why would I set up any sort of block on websites I visit frequently? And why would it just suddenly be ok today?
There was a problem, and it wasn't the end users. Just makes it an easier decision to move away from AT&T is all.

I've tried Google DNS and OpenDNS to no avail, and I have no idea who to contact to fix this.
It is definitely AT&T's fault. This is more reasoning for me to switch away from AT&T.
Nobody to contact, not fixed in a couple days, what the heck!
Anybody know what we can do?

You can send a message to Alex and he will have the appropriate people/department contact you within a couple days. To see his reply, click the little blue envelope, upper right corner of this page.

I am having the exact same problem in Fort Worth, TX. No one using AT&T in my area can access my website, but people using Verizon can. It has been this way for over 2 weeks now. I called AT&T customer support and all they tried to do was sell me the ConncTech plan.
AT&T is blocking my website in this area and wants to charge me to fix it!!!
When I do a tracert, it goes from my computer to the following AT&T server and stops there:
99-111-228-3.lightspeed.rcsntx.sbcglobal.net

My site is hosted by GOdaddy and I am getting the 502 Error only on my ATT products. Verizon, Comcast, and other ISP are able to connect. At first when I got the call (all of which use ATT Wireless or Uverse) they couldnt access thier website. I called Godaddy to make sure because I was mobile and unable to connect to Wifi. Everything was good and when I got home I connected to my Comcast and my att Samsung Note to Wifi and the site came right up. There is an issue with ATT network and if there was a dns change or something it usually only takes a couple of days. I can access it on Verizon Wireless iPhone and Verizon wireless mobile cards. There is an outage somewhere. I can tracert but, its not within the ATT network. I have allot of customers and busineses that are unable to get to sites within the last 5 days or so.
The site is http://dscosfl.com/ridgelandautoworld or http://wwwdscosfl.com
Tried everything while mobile to identify the issue.
Tried http://www.webpagetest.org/traceroute and I can hit from any direction.

I, too, am able to get to it at this time from my U-verse account. It must be a local routing issue.

I am having the same exact problem but I don't see any resolution. Was anyone able to figure this out.
Things I've tried
- Using googles DNS rather than AT&T DNS servers
- Clearing cahce, internet browsing history, etc.
- Calling AT&T technical support, I got a superviosr who is trying to work with me but at this point I am not sure he understands the issue
- I have verified two different U-Verse accounts in the same geographical area in which I am not able to access this website from http://ebiz3.cinderellainc.com/ however I can hit it from Verizon internet connections, sprint internet connections, other AT&T internet connections.
- I can hit the site if I use a proxy service in internet explorer
- When I run a traceroute I see the same hop that you see "99-13-44-2.lightspeed.bcvloh.sbcglobal.net [99.1
3.44.2]", etc. My trace to google.com was clean.
- The same laptop I take- home and I can connect fine on a different provider so it's not a PC issue
- I tried to find a way to disable IPv6 but could not figure out if that was even an option, it was not enabled on the windows 7 workstation I was working on
- Modem type is an AT&T 2wire 3800HGV-B
- An odd thing I noticed when I got to ipchicken.com is my outside address appearts to have a .0 subnet which seems odd to me but seems to be a non issue for some other sites.
- I was also able to identify at least two other sites having an issue with
http://www.roscoemedical.com/ and http://www.cascade-usa.com/
- One U-verse account is in Grand Rapids MI the other is in Jackson MI both having the same issue
Anyone have any success with getting this resolved? It's funny this thread has been viewed over 2,000 times so I have to imagine there is a fix and or a possible known issue.

Any resolution? I saw AT&T PM'd one of the other users on this thread, having the same issue with two U-Verse accounts described to the T, any resoluion or suggestions would be welcome. I even see the same network device / ip address when I hop out onto the U-Verse network when doing a trace.

Since I can't edit my above post. I also wanted to add that the site I have trouble with is one that has emoticons you can post on forums and such. I won't die without it but nobody else I've asked online has had trouble getting to it, none of them have Uverse though. I wasn't trying to spam or anything and really would like to know if anyone else here can get to the site I'm not allowed to post to see if it's just me or if it's the Uverse.

I can't get to it at all either. I did the other day by using one of those sites that hides your IP info so I finally saw what I couldn't see. It's the only site I've had trouble with so far. I can't see the emoticons people use from there either though. I only found out about me being the only one not being able to see them when I asked someone why they were posting pics nobody could see.
I don't understand why Uverse users can't get to websites other US ISP users can.

Do you see these hops as well? One test I saw AT&t's router as .2 the other .3
Here is the command “trace route”

I've been having a similar issue on my website as well. This is what I get on traceroute. The site is dimension2.in.
Was there a resolution of this issue at all?

This traceroute indicates a connection issue, i.e. your RG isn't connecting to the AT&T network. This is an entirely different issue. I'd suggest that you call AT&T Technical Support at 800-288-2020
