I live in South Florida, West Palm Beach, there are ton of brazilians like my self here in south florida, texas, new york, california, that have a ton of brazilians, and they pay a ton with Direct Tv, Dish and other cable companies to get brazilian tv, Please catch up!!
Thanks,
Brian

YES ! We need at least GLOBO INTERNATIONAL. I've been visited by tons of ATT sales guys here at Kendall, Miami. I really want to switch and leave Comcrap asap but... Comcrap has GLOBO and my wife won't allow me to switch to UVerse if the channel is not in the line up. I've talked to all of them, emailed UVerse but so far nothing... I don't know what the problem is since all other providers carry Globo (Dish, DirectTV, Comcrap, etc...) so it should be profitable
If there is someone from UVerse monitoring this forum it would be great to have some info about it. Comcrap is about to deploy Docsis 3 in the area and once it happens I will continue with them and UVerse will lose a customer.
Cheers

I second to that... it's funny that you can get so many international channels on U-Verse and yet they would leave the biggest country in Latin America out of their line-up! In Orlando here and no globo either from BrigthHouse or U-Verse. Only the satellite providers have it. grrr!!!!

I have been pestering them for Globo now since I signed up. I was told by the sales rep that we would have it before 2009 ended. Now the World Cup is coming in June and I have 15 family members coming to visit that would love to see the games in their native language.
What I find interesting is Dish Network, a partner of AT&T, has the channels but AT&T can't put it on their uverse.
Dish Network, direct tv, and verizon all have the Brazilian channels!!! Dish network can be purchased as part of a packaged deal for use with AT&T DSL service. WHY cant we have it on uverse. Chat representatives and even phone reps say they are working on it but have NO information. I will be canceling my service soon (no longer than May) and switching over to comcast if they dont have the Brazilian channels ready.
I would suggest that others do the same. The only way companies change anything is if they fear they will lose money by losing customers.

Just as an FYI, Dish Network no longer has a partnership with AT&T. AT&T now partners with Directv to provide TV service to AT&T customers.

I'm in the same situation. I cannot switch to U-Verse TV until they have Globo International in the channel lineup.
AT&T... I will switch, tomorrow, if you bring this channel on board! Until then, Dish will keep getting my business.
I already have U-Verse DSL and receive all kinds of offers to add the TV service. I'll be happy to take you up on your offer once you've added TV Globo!
Thanks,
Erik

We are in the same boat. We would love to switch to uVerse but are stuck with satellite until Globo is available. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it will be added soon.

Keep this on the top page folks. I am very disappointed that U-Verse cannot get or is unwilling to provide the same channels that you can get from their competitors or even their partners. Direct TV has Globo International. Direct TV is in a partnership with ATT. Comcast has this channel, Dish Network (former partner of ATT) has this channel. Please explain why we cant get it with U-verse?

Well it is official. I am canceling my U-Verse subscription and going with Comcast. I refuse to use the affiliate directtv or the previous affiliate dish network because their customer service sux. Both companies want to charge you to fix THEIR equipment. If a box goes bad and you need to replace it...$49, if the dish gets out of alignment (yes weather issue but we pay rent on the equipment) they want $49. If we are renting the equipment then we should not pay for maintenance period.
But the real reason I am canceling my U-verse is that they refuse to provide any updates on IF they will even consider carrying globo and to be honest I have family coming in June from Brasil and need the Brasilian channels. With out so much as a smidge of information coming from U-Verse other than please post on our website means they are not interested. So going for the Comcast triple play .
Was nice being with U-Verse but the lack of programming is appauling especially when all of their competition and affiliates have this programming. IT IS NOT AN ISOLATED channel that only ONE network has. Direct TV has it, Dish has it, Verizon has it, Comcast has it.
I urge each and every one of you that have other options to please use those options. Unless there is a fear of losing customers they will do nothing to make it better. I for one have canceled

rbeamj, dude, I thought the same thing, I wanted to switch to Dish Network, because they have GLOBO, I am brazilian, I live in South Florida, a ton of brazilians live here, if you want GLOBO, then switch, but ATT UVERSE is alot better than COMCAST. I had Adelphia, then became Comcast. I had Directtv and my parents have Dish, they are happy, the reception is good, the video image is nice, but I know that for you to get Globo you need 2 Dishes, one for HD and the other for Globo or other international channels from Dish. I don't know maybe they've changed. This is what I do, I watch Globo online, I found a lot of good sites with free Brazilian channels online, true it's not the best image quality, since they are streamed. Bro I wish you well. I was an ATT UVERSE critic, now I see it's alot better than the competition, with ATT there's no contract.

So I was going through some threads and found the following.
**************************************************
http://utalk.lithium.com/t5/TV-Programming/Channel
**************************************************
This is the proper method to request that AT&T carry a channel that isn't currently carried.
1.Call U-Verse technical support at 1-800-ATT-2020 or 1-800-983-2811.
2.Tell the tech that you'd like to formally request that U-Verse carry a channel that is currently not carried. If the tech doesn't know how to do that, here's how they do it:
3.The tech should go to uverseone.att.com. This is an internal-only web site that only the tech can get to.
4.They should click on "Local Market Tool".
5.They should then click on "U-Verse Channel Lookup".
6.They should then click on "Request Channels".
7.That opens a form with a short series of questions that they and/or you have to answer. Once the form is submitted, the request goes into a database.
I didn't want to call so I logged in and did the support via chat. The rep first send me to a link that would be to give feedback and I told the rep I want to specifically request a channel lineup and not give feedback, and proceed to copy / paste 1 through 6. He/She claimed it filled the form, and asked me if the channel would be a part of my decision to stay with U-verse. I said that while I am not willing to go get 2 dishes to see Globo, if Bright House in Orlando offers it, I'd switch it back.
So hopefully if more people request it, eventually we would have it.

Please use this info to request Globo Internacional to ATT U-verse! CALL ATT at 1-800-983-2811
This was actually posted in another thread by a user named TechOne, and I thought this procedure could be so useful that it warranted its own thread.
This is the proper method to request that AT&T carry a channel that isn't currently carried.
- Call U-Verse technical support at 1-800-ATT-2020 or 1-800-983-2811.
- Tell the tech that you'd like to formally request that U-Verse carry a channel that is currently not carried. If the tech doesn't know how to do that, here's how they do it:
- The tech should go to uverseone.att.com. This is an internal-only web site that only the tech can get to.
- They should click on "Local Market Tool".
- They should then click on "U-Verse Channel Lookup".
- They should then click on "Request Channels".
- That opens a form with a short series of questions that they and/or you have to answer. Once the form is submitted, the request goes into a database.
If enough people request channels this way, this will eventually get the message to the people who need to know it at AT&T.
So everyone who wants MLB Network, Tennis Channel, Fox Soccer HD or Fox Soccer Plus, etc. -- this is the procedure you need to follow that potentially can have the most impact.
I am trusting the accuracy of this information to TechOne. I would like someone who has actually tried this to please post in this thread your experience with this method so that we can validate that indeed this works and the techs at the support desk have access to these screens as described.
[mod note - edited to add the procedure below recommended by bedwards, which also works]
uverseone.att.com
On the right side of the page there is a "quick Links" section and all they have to do is click on
CHANNEL REQUESTS
You don't have to do any of the other stuff. Stand on your head and spit twinkies or anything!
1) uverseone.att.com
2) Have CRS select Channel Requests.

The Tennis Channel? The Tennis Channel has been in the U-verse channel lineup since June 21st!
Also, this procedure is already documented in a "sticky" at the top of this forum called "Channel Request Procedures".

Hmm... I could care less about U-Verse adding Brazilian channels to their line-up, 'cause I honestly wouldn't subscribe to them, but at least I don't make generalizations that make absolutely ZERO sense. What do 19 new SPANISH channels have to do with BRAZILIAN PORTUGUESE channels?
Nothing. FAIL.

I should have been more clear in my post. My point was, they just added 19 new foreign language channels. I don't see them adding more foreign language channels any time soon. NBA TV needs to be added and there are other HD's out there that need to be added. It wasn't a post on the specific language, spanish vs Portuguese, it was foreigh language, just to note 19 more channels have been added to the, I guess it would be the foreign language package, which includes a lot of other languages, Russian, chineese ect....
WIN
