I have no inside info about the status of the free U450 preview.  My guess would be there is some issues that they are trying to resolve.  AT&T has no reason to not go through with providing the previously announced free preview.

I sincerely apologize but there is a system outage for U450 preview that is contributing to the issues you are having right now. Our network engineers are actively working on this issue but have not yet come to a resolution. I realize this is a frustrating situation and appreciate your patience as we work to resolve this issue. Once the outage is cleared your U450 preview should begin functioning normally again. I apologize again for the inconvenience that this is causing.

So there IS a difference between 'regular' HBO and FREE HBO since regular (ie. subscribed/paid) is working and the preview is not.

This worked for me... I tried AT&T's answer to everything. Unplug the boxes for 10 seconds (I did 30 to give it time to update) and viola !!! Free channels. Happy Turkey day everyone. )

I don't know if those having issues have tried a recent reboot of the U-verse receiver.

Others on the Facebook page are now reporting that rebooting the U-verse receiver is making the U450 free preview available for them.

Our's is now working and we didn't have to reboot. Thank you to AT&T for fixing the problem quickly. No longer disappointed.

It has been done every year since i have been a customer the main reason to show some customers what they might be missing and maybe they will upgrade its actually good marketing.

I didn't have to do anything to activate the free preview, but there are over 20 HD channels that I am unable to watch.  I checked with friends who have the same U300 package I have, and they are able to watch them.  I have been on the phone with TS 3 times to get this resolved, and recently sent a PM to Customer Care.  Unfortunately if they do eventually get this resolved, it is already Satruday which is over half of the preview weekend.

Do you subscribe to the HD service?

No I don't.  I am getting the other HD channels and a few friends who have the U300 package and no HD package are able to watch them.  I got a call back from Tier 2 TS and he informed me that there are issues with some channels not being able to be viewed by some subs.  And that the problem is on AT&Ts end.  Oh well, life goes on.

U450 includes HD so it shouldn't matter.
