I'm in Grand Prairie,TX in the Dallas Market and 4 HD is not available yet according to TS around 3:00 pm 9/14/10. Talked to a nice person for about 20 minutes as she seemed to check everything she could and finally concluded she couldn't get it enabled for me yet. She said I had all the qualifications but it just couldn't be done here yet.

Give it time, it is coming to your area. ATT rolls out upgrades region by region. If you are close enough to the VRAD you will get 0sd/4hd.

I'm also in the Grand Prairie area, and I have had the 4 HD profile since August 30th. Initially I called Technical Support to request the upgrade, but they were unable to complete the upgrade. I called the Sales Department, and they were able to upgrade me to the 4 HD profile.
If you are on the 32/5 profile in the Dallas market, you should be able to be upgraded to the 4 HD profile file. I would suggest that you speak with the Sales Department to request the upgrade.

How close to the VRAD do you have to be to get 4HD's? I am less than 1300 ft. My Wan is at 3HD/1SD. Ingress is 2HD/2SD.

From the link in the first message in this thread, a U-verse tech mentioned the following:
"The UvClass11 3HD/1SD profile is currently deployed to NEW customers in Dallas and Ft. Worth, TX who have a loop length of 2,200 ft. or less and a minimum bandwidth of 32Mbps. Effective 8/29/10 all new customers eligible for UvClass11 and have ordered a Uverse package with High Definition technology will receive 4HD/0SD profile when their service is installed."
Thus, if you qualified for the 32/5 profile, you would receive the 4 HD profile.

4 HD is not what it seems, at least to me. On the 0SD/4HD you can watch 4 different HD channels as long as you are not recording any channel. You can record 3HD channels and can watch a 4th different HD channel but not on the TV connected to the DVR. You cannot record 4HD channels!

Hello all...just FYI, as of 9/19, 0/4 HD will be availabe for the Ft. Lauderdale area. You must call in to tech support (Tier2) to get it activated on 9/19 for existing customers-new customers on that date will get it automatically. . I will be calling 0001-9/19 myself!!

Based on my experience, I would suggest calling the Sales Department instead of Technical Support when the 4 HD profile becomes available. See my message in the thread below.

I remember a post where somebody was jokingly requesting the 0sd/4hd profile because they had just gotten the 1sd/3hd profile. This one rolled out pretty fast for ATT.

You are the expert here...I am only relaying what the tech. that came to my house said!! As of 9/19, 0/4HD will be available in Ft. Lauderdale. He even showed me his computer where he pulled up the info. It will be dependant upon you being able to get the 32/5 proifle.

LOL. I'm not disputing what you said. Based on my experience, you might have more success getting the 4 HD profile upgrade processed by speaking to the Sales Department instead of Technical Support when it becomes available in your market on September 19th.

It is probably easier because sales will just go on and put the order through. TS would more than likely check stats, profile. distance, etc etc etc.

Actually, the Sales Department will run a test and verify that you are on the 32/5 profile prior to upgrading you to the 4 HD profile. When I initially spoke to someone in Technical Support, he tried to upgrade me but kept getting an error stating that I did not have sufficient bandwidth to support the 4 HD profile, which was not true. He mentioned that the Sales Department has access to better tools to upgrade customers to a higher profile.
I called the Sales Department and the person that I spoke with ran the test, verified that I was on the 32/5 profile, verified that the 4 HD profile was available in my market, and processed the order to upgrade me to the new profile. A few minutes later, I rebooted my DVR and STB's, and I had the 4 HD profile.

Just called Sales Department of Connecticut. They have no idea what I was talking about. If anyone can get me a phone to call instead of calling my local uverse area that would be great.
Sales said at this time it is not available and have never heard of that feature with uverse customers.
